It follows a set of rules that are pre-programmed into the bot, which is not the case with an AI. In the case of an AI, no human can explain what the bot is doing, hence it cannot be programmed by a developer. I feel that with an audience of your caliber people should be taught the facts about AI, since it's going to be crucial in the years to come. You should not call that script an AI, it just checks the RSI above 70 or below 30, implements a Robinhood API and places few orders. AI would work with big data like market sentiment, news around the stock, financial balances, combine more than one indicator etc. and then to decide what trade to do.

Classifier sounds like an odd pick. Traiding is much more than classifying between BUY and SELL signals. There is stop loss, take profit, partials etc. I'd say regressors are a better choice instead.

Just to be clear the bot is automating the trading process based on an AI mechanical strategy right? This has the benefit of speed, always working on time, and lack of emotion (what screws over most traders). It would be so sick if A.I is actually using constant intelligence to do profitable discretionary trading. Discover and using flexible patterns and indicators and risk management parameters all on its own. But still pretty nice, if only it can do backtesting to refine strategy.

If you want to improve the bot, it would be smart to code it to recognize if it is in a down trend or an up trend (using an MA). Then if it's in a down trend it should only go short, and vice versa in an uptrend. This will greatly improve its efficiency. I hope this helped (:

I think this works cuz the AI has no emotions. It's not going to hold a losing trade it cuts losses without thinking, humans have a hard time doing that and hold hoping for a rebound, but often times it Dips further. I think the biggest takeaway with any trading strategy is set ur rules and trade like a robot. Makes it nice to not have to watch the market tho
