for a long time, i felt guilty about how bad for music and musicians i thought the internet had ultimately been. and i kind of categorized the effect the internet had on music in the same column with the affect that the internet had on pedophilia and cp type stuff. there's some areas, that the internet actually became a bad thing. and really i didn't expect to say this about youtube of all god forsaken things, but i think the networking between musicians of all walks of life, different preferences seperated by multiple genres, and maybe even amplified by the pandemic, etc is really going to hit the world like a tsunami in the very near future.. and it may help to balance the scales a little bit? the only thing i ever felt guilty about pirating online was music when i saw what we had all done to the industry. the internet has really left some smoking craters here and there if you think about it. lol
@ysph3 жыл бұрын
but it managed a pretty good comeback i think ultimately. in regards to music at least.
@ysph3 жыл бұрын
but i don't question whether the internet was good for humanity. just for music specifically, i felt sorta disappointed with the way that went down in the 90's. obviously, breaking the stranglehold that governments around the world had over information makes the internet one of the greatest equalizers in history.

Tell Her! Don't you stop lady! You continue! Never stop! Never give up your heart! You are who you are, and nothing on this planet can change that! I was like you and at 17 was playing eruption from Eddie like I was riding a bike. It came to me as if I'd always done it! After about 8 9 months, I had an accident at work which cost me my left index finger. I was devistated! All my dreams were gone! I had 5K in equipment in my bedroom that I couldn't do jack shit with! Full stack 5150, and 6 guitars just laid there with a ton of stomp boxes, and all I could do was cry. After a while I tried to exercise just to stay limber,,,, after talking with my therapist, she recomended I continue. So I did! 2 years later, I was in a band (1994, new years eve on my page!) this was the biggest show in my home town, and is still the biggest sellout in the history of this place! The point is, you are what you are! Whatever life throws at you, you are what you are! BE YOU! Stand and be! Whatever life throws at you, you ,,,,,are,,,, SO BE IT!

I think too many times the musicians are trying too hard to be supper duuupppererererererer sopisstocated and innnncreddddabllle, aaawwsooome that they ruin the melodic vibration that is "music"... Which is why I also chose the young lady... accurate, smooth, enjoyable and complimented without "talking over" your clean sweet sound.. and she is easy on the eyes with a bit of a tude... all in all I would like to hear more... Some of those bass players look like they already had basses that were beyond the quality of the Schecter being given away. The gal on guitar did a super job, but can probably most benefit from getting the Schecter bass since she perhaps doesn't have a dedicated bass yet. As far as need goes, the guy with the home modified bass that looks like a crazy Steinberger copy might be number two most appreciative. Anyway, CB's contest and his picks. Amusing video.

I may be wrong(usually am) but pretty sure you meant to clock in 4:53, is precisely where she won this contest. That hanging harmonic she placed over what Chuck was riffing at that very moment just crumbled everything else in this video to dust. Prior to that I was trying to decide between Enrico & Tiago and just couldn't stick with a pick between the two. I also LOVED Jeremie's vibe and glide performance, but cringed at the distortion and poor sound quality I was hearing it through. As a trained audio engineer, that kind of thing just puckers my schphincter, and I start looking for a toilet thinking my bowels are about to let loose, lol. Anyways, what's a vibraphonist gonna do with that Schecter? Mane Bass played quite well but had sound quality issues as Chuck B mentioned. Mishka played even better, unfortunately had even worse tone/sound quality. Peter had better sound on his totally dope custom guitar, and did really listen and respond well to Chachi's parts. Ruido(?) gave a rad performance and played that reverse lick after telegraphing what he was about to do, like Lou Gehrig, or was it Hank Aaron stepping to the plate and pointing to the fence right before corking the next pitch right over it for the walk-off HR. So much Epic stuff crammed into ten minutes right here, I can hear 504 crying from here, lol. 😐🤨🤔🤫😬

She earned it big time! Sad Charles had only one base to give. The contestants are amazing.

Her music had me laugh and cry at the same time, she is the true winner.. so much can be felt in a simple melody.

I have no business calling myself a bass player after watching all these talented people playing. I have the Schecter SLS Evil Twin 5 and it feels incredible. Love that bass.

My favourite was laytar for that incredibly intricate interleaving with Charles' part, and also the amazingly clean harmonics. Mind-blowing and just on another level. My 2nd fav probably Ruido the backwards part was very cool and very clever and original. Plus his video timing and acting matched Charles' so well.

The backward thing is one of those gimmicks that are cool until you realize it's just the rule of counter points.

Hers was so smooth and delicate and just complimented his style. I'd love to be able to play bass like her!
