Be aware that some of the "quantum" stickers have thorium dioxide in the adhesive, so they may be mildly radioactive. As a precaution, wash your hands after handling them as ingesting alpha emitter material is not a good health thing. The ones I checked out that are sold to protect special people from their phone's 5G death beams were radioactive. That phat resistor in the power conditioner thing is a resistive dropper. So the case should get reassuringly warm in use. (It's the cheapest way to run the LED flasher from the mains.)

“This should be illegal” It is, under the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act. These companies get away with it because they’re so small, rarely have any actual legal presence in a given country, and are only enforced when people complain to the relivent authority. In LTT’s case, that’d be the Competition Bureau’s Deceptive Marketing Practices Directorate. For those quantum stickers, if they are in fact radioactive, reporting them to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission would be smart. Burn-in isn't absolutely hogwash. I make electronic test equipment for measuring photodiodes and they have to be burned in due to the extreme sensitivity of the measurements. I'm using a Keithley 237 Source-Measure Unit and applying a few hundred volts and watching the current. It'll drop from ~1's of µAs to sub nAs. No one has been able to explain exactly whats going on, but the supposition is that contaminants are getting migrated or its something to do with surface charge. It definitely helps to heat it up in an oven while you're doing it. I dont think any of this would ever be noticeable in audio equipment, but there is evidence of burn-in being real. I spent a lot of money on my headphones and when I first got them I was ready to send them back immediately, but I played metal at 150% comfortable listening levels for like 24 hours and it made an absolute difference. I figure its probably from the foam fatiguing to be a little more compliant or maybe even some "deburring" if you will, and I'm sure you wont.

If there is a noise difference, then your correct, literally anything, ANYTHING would make more of a difference than it. Meaning that yea, it actually does not make a difference 😆. (Although some ups's can fix dirty power, if you're having an issue with that. But that's mostly like, if you're dealing with that, then this device will probably not help, and you need cleaner power in general)

Props to Linus and LMG as a whole for really backing their claims of making new format content. Ace work.

the Q-vibe is the worst because it IS possible to do what they're advertising. make a very big very precise notch filter out of giant caps and coils and pass everything that isn't exactly 60Hz in the wall through a resistor, and it'll turn any noise on the circuit into heat. but the resulting box would be massive and at that point you're better off just using a normal in-line passive filter that just blocks the noise by being a 60Hz resonator / band-pass filter.

"Hyperaudiophilia" can be a serious mental condition. It occurs when an audiophile (hi-fi enthusiast, nothing wrong with that) achieves a level of sound quality that can not be significantly improved, but feels compelled to continue trying to do so at any cost. It's a form of addiction and can cause otherwise intelligent, rational individuals to be taken in by what others clearly see as nonsensical claims related to sham products. Such products tend to be extremely expensive and, generally speaking, do nothing at all.

@@jamescruz8678One of my favs back in the CD days was a weighted disc to make the CD more of a flywheel to "smooth out the data stream." Works for vinyl, right? Well, the data goes into a buffer and is paced out by a clock. so... If anything it just made it harder for the motor to adjust disc speed to keep the buffer fed.

That "silver" in the gold-plated XLR filters is probably a thin layer of nickel plating. I forget the specifics, but it is very difficult to plate gold to copper so, typically, the copper if first plated with a layer of nickel which the gold will more easily plate to.

Those CD stickers might have actually been useful once upon a time. Music companies had released some albums that you were supposedly unable to copy/burn to your PC etc. The way to get around it was to get a marker and cover up the writing on the center of the disc. From memory this was very early 2000's before the Iphone was even a thing.
