I think the best fruit for Zoro actually is the Tori-Tori no Mi Model Phoenix. Zoro is a really reckless melee fighter (swordsman) who is innevitably limited by the large amount of damage he sustains due to said recklessness. He manages to break through because of his immense stamina and durability, but so much damage must hinder his performance at minimum. But now imagine him not having to care about that because he can automatically heal himself while ALSO getting the benefit of the strength buff that a zoan type DF próvidos. Not to mention that a character of Zoro’s caliber and traits is very likely to awaken said fruit. I personally think he would be near unstoppable.

@@richarddill692 the main point of the phoenix DF is that you can heal while ALSO getting a physical buff. Also with said fruit it doesn't matter if you are damaged with haki, you can heal it after. Taking those things into acount I think that the phoenix fruit is a much better suit for a fighter like Zoro than the sube sube no mi.

Weirdly enough, Idk if this is already a theory or not (I've never seen/heard someone else talk about this but I could be very wrong, I think you may have nailed what Dragon's fruit is with the mythical hito hito no mi: model Susanoo-no-mikoto. Aside from the storm based powers he has shown off already, the way Dragon is depicted and is viewed by the world is very similar to that of Susanoo. In some texts Susanoo was banished from the heavens due to his bad behaviour yet was also depicted in some texts as a hero who killed a serpent (the yamata no orochi) and was linked with better harvests. (this next bit is head canon) I personally am a fan of the theory that Dragon used to be a member of the God's knights (which is why he was scared when Sabo brought up the name even though they are a group that is completely secret to the public) and then betrayed them at some point after learning about a secret of the world government. Now that means that he was banished/he escape from what is revered as heaven in the One Piece world because of his behaviour, however he is seen as a hero by other people as the leader of the Revolutionary Army.

Zoro's battle IQ isn't high enough to reallly use that to its full potential.(Neither is Kidds to be honest.) Zoro is more of a brute strength guy. Id say if we want to give Zoro a god fruit, Takemikazuchi, god of swords and lightning in Shinto fits him perfectly. Or another mythical zoan that would fit is Tengu, which are demons known for their swordsmanship. Ever since Marco's fruit was shown, I have been a little obsessed with Mythical Zoans. For any swordsman, I think either the previous God I mentioned is perfect, or Horus, a falcon headed god of the sky, protection, healing and perception. So it would amp his speed, perception haki, give him wings, perhaps some shielding abilities and maybe control of the air? the sky god fighting with the sun god feels kind of right tbh.

Zoro having a DF doesn't discredit his purpose of being a swordsman or his goal of being the world's strongest swordsman by beating Mihawk. If that was the case, then Zoro wouldn't fight Shiryu as his Blackbeard matchup since he has a DF and he's clearly a swordsman. While that fight hasn't happened yet, it's pretty much guaranteed atp in the story

The susanoo idea was similar to my thoughts of a wind wind fruit because wind slashes with swords, flying and speed to increase his mobility and increases his range with his swords. He could also compressed air and solidify it to defend but I think he'll probably make a room out of the solidify air to trap his enemies into a room with him to fight him which I think suits him because he wouldn't use his devil fruit for anything other than to lock his enemy into a room with him so as to only fight with his swords and make it so his enemy can't flee. Also he could flying so it'll make getting to place easier which would help with his bad directions though he'll probably still get lost.

The perfect fruit for Zoro is the Phonix phoenix fruit. Zoro is a tank, but he always takes lots of damage. If Zoro had the phoenix fruit then all that damage would get instantly healed. Plus zoro will get lost less if he can fly to his target. An immortal Zoro that is always perfectly healed after every difficult fight, That would make him much more dangerous.

The Ace and Blackbeard battle had a lot going against Ace. Due to Ace's attitude and temper he rushed in blind and didn’t know anything about the darkness fruit. In this Timeline the abilities and feats of darkness Zoro would be well known so Ace would have a much stronger showing. It would be a toss up since Ace was a master of his DF and had all three Haki types.

I am pretty sure Dragon has the storm god fruit. Weve never seen him with a sword, but it might be like Nika where its a God of the Skypeians that Oda made up. What if he had the Hito Hito No Mi:Takemikazuchi fruit? He is the god of not only swords but of lightning.Which would only add to his asura swordsman powers. With lightning, speed is heavily implied to be amped. He would out speed even Shanks, have a haki coated electrified blade, and perhaps even a logia like body made of lightning. Or sticking with his hinduism theme, maybe Shiva, god of destruction? Or maybe having a god fruit is a bit far fetched. Another mythical zoan that would fit perfectly is the Tengu. Theyre demons known for their swordsmanship so it fits kind of perfectly.

I would have given zoro the falcon fruit, it’s a Zoan fruit that won’t to drastically change zoros body so he can still use 3 sword style and even 5 sword style by flying and holding swords with his feet, but being a Zoan it would give him (more) super human abilities, and flight so he can’t get lost (kinda) I would have given him Phoenix for all the same reason but it’s cooler and regeneration but the hybrid isn’t conventional and would get in the way quite drastically for his 3 sword style (also flying 3 sword or flying 5 sword style is so cool)

As powerful as the Darkness fruit is, I'm pretty sure power negation involved physical contact as many fruits' powers do. this means Zoro would lose his 3 sword style and his ability to swim to not want to use it since it's not real swordsmanship. Honestly, I doubt Zoro would even be willing to use power negations against non-sword fighting since it would be unfair and he'd feel like a cheater, The Darkness fruit is just entirely incompatible with his personality or move set. The best fuirt options for Zoro would be something that gives him any kind of physical boost. Chop-Chop for defense, strong strong for offence, or even the Kilo Kilo to improve his speed, maneuverability, and damage on impacts. Of course any Zoan would improve all his physical stats, and Logia would give him great defence, and who doesn't want flaming sword Zoro.

Maybe Zoro could use Goro Goro No Mi (Enel's lightning fruit) because not only would it give him logia invulnerability, teleportation, and elemental attacks, but metal is a conductor, so not only could he supercharge his swords, but he could also use the electric metallurgy that Enel did in order to manipulate gold to be applied to steel, allowing him to not only forge new swords, but also repair any damage done to them (ex. if a sword shattered, he could heat up the point of fracture using electrical energy to fuse the sword back together).

What if had the sense sense fruit a paramecia fruit that empowered all of his senses sight hearing smell and using this he could not only detect stuff like haki, but you’d be able to feel /sense intentions and integrity all things you can’t plainly see. As we know, he has the move that can use tornado (forgot it's name), but also to use aura that even surprised Kaido a bit.
