Hi Billy 👍 Have just discovered your channel this evening, but it really is a goldmine of advice, inspirational and yet grounded logic. I really also appreciate that your delivery is not perhaps as slick as you may like, but it comes across as thoughtful, experienced, and authentic. I've just got back into songwriting & recording after getting burnt 20yrs ago - if I'd had access to this sort of stuff back then, perhaps it wouldn't have crushed my spirit as much. Keep on doing what you do, when you can cause content like this can make a real difference to folk that need to hear it. Sending good vibes in your general direction.

Great video with lots of good tips. I agree with making friends over just networking. Your friends are your network. What I want to know Billy is Let's say I just set up a home studio now what? What do you suggest I learn first? What are the basic skills an aspiring producer needs? What are the best resources online for learning? Maybe a video on this topic? Thanks Billy. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy them.

Absolutely in shock that someone out there understands the importance of atmospheric resonance (Air pressure). Paul and John always sang their harmonies trough the air into the one mike. The air resistance helps to suppress the odd harmonic components of sound before they enter the mike. Nobody today cares about this very important aspect of sound recording. It is as you said, three times more rich in sound quality, than recording directly into the desk. Am going to buy a triode valve stereo preamp to completely remaster three of my Albums to further enhance the second harmonic component in the overall sound. The video of Stockers Chain is a play on words referring to Wall St. Set and Osiris are the Bull and Bear. You can really hear the struggles. Anyway, thank you for elucidating and confirming my musical progress.

Consider there are a million of us out there trying to get something off the ground in the music industry. Consider the thousands of nepobabies, the volunteers, the desperate and the thirsty who are prepared to do whatever it takes. Consider the crafty kids who spend day and night. The competition is insane. Finding, and focusing on a niche is a good idea, be that film sound or commercials or acoustic ensembles, find something that you have a unique interest for, ie. the lesser known path.

Always buy a used car. The value of a new car drops the second you drive it off of the lots property. The advice to get expenses low is just good advice.

Alright y'all motivated me into making something actually find-able! I always had trouble recording (playing for people wasn't ever an issue), but I did all last night and didn't seem to have a problem with it... screw it I'm feeling it

honesty ? sincerity ? you'd rather tell someone : i can't do it, i don't know how to do it than ending up with a bad reputation.

@ dude! I love the cedar room. Hahaha. So funny. I still have my first Alesis MIDIVERB I bought in like the late 80s. It still rocks. Present 15 on drums. Gotta open it from time to time to clean the little buttons so that they work. Hahaha. You’ve inspired me now.

5:22 Let me tell you how taxes work where I’m from: if you pay them, you can’t afford to eat; if you don’t pay them, you lose everything. So, anything you try to do in Italy that isn’t a regular office job is doomed to end terribly. No ifs, no buts!

Loopholes are legal that even democrats write into law and take advantage of. If you made millions and could avoid paying taxes, you would. But because you’re not a millionaire and don’t know how to avoid, you’re mad. Better yourself.
