Love the series with you coaching players how they should play like a pro. Although I've played wc3 and TFT back in 2004 - 2015 or so I still learn a few things that I never knew I could do in this game... It's like free coaching for us, crazy value from the best who ever played this game. Love it. Fan forever

So funny when Grubby locks in and goes on to predict the whole game, only to realize immediately after unpausing that the players are not going for the most logical action. Love it! This series goes hard.

Grubby is trying to give moment to moment commands for coaching, but that usually does not work. People need time to process and they have their own different tasks queue in their mind and there can always be communication errors. So it was much better when he was explaining what Harstem has to do in the future.
@NinaNinaM24Ай бұрын
The point isn't to make him win the game, but to teach and guide him as he's playing, even if that makes him play worse in the moment, to create better habits. He does a healthy mix of live coaching, replay analysis and explaining high level replays.

they kind of address it at 7:50. he isnt giving that moment-to-moment coaching in the hopes that he will execute those commands as he receives them, he is giving them so that after the fight when there is a moment for more structured coaching he can have harstem recall the instructions and give elaborations on why they were made then to help build up that instinct for the future. i coached my wife on how to play Heroes of the Storm, and if you only focus on the instructions they're capable of ingesting at the moment then you never give any instructions; you give a tiny bit more instruction than they're capable of acting on some of the time, and then when you have a moment soon after you go "when i called out mirror image there it was because he was going to start running and you wanted to sneak a single attack in to trigger your move speed bonus, it didn't matter that the images weren't going to get any value/there was no skillshot to dodge, we were just blowing the spell for a small teleport since we had windwalk in case we need to escape". it doesn't matter that she wasn't able to respond to the command to mirror image & the enemy kelthuzad got away in the moment, because now you've programed the student a little bit more to recognize in the future that mirror image has value as a short range blink in certain low-risk high-potential-gain situations. a lot of students you can't give that information ahead of a fight or before a match because they will have forgotten it by the time the situation arises, they need to be given that information while they have fresh memory of a moment where it would have made a different AND you need to anchor that moment in their short term memory with feedback, even if they aren't capable of acting on the feedback in that moment. sort of like putting a pin in a moment so u can address it immediately afterwards when the smoke clears
@oguzcanoguz5977Ай бұрын
@@NinaNinaM24 Not about winning or not winning to be honest, it is about not confusing the player with information overload or decision paralysis. Actually giving commands at the moment is more about winning and learning, because people dont learn without processing the information or deciding by themselves. He even talks about it in the end himself, that he should better explain to Harstem what he will need to do while he was creeping as opposed to telling him on the moment.

I don't think just telling Harstem what to do works. At that point it's just you telling him how to play rather than working with how he plays. I think Harstem would do far better if you told him what the overall strategy is and how to execute it, then watch what he does whilst warning him about certain things so he corrects them himself rather than just telling him what to do at every single step. It seemed very suffocating.

WOOO For the Alliance! (Dw grubby I cheer 4 u when ur human too 😊) Edit: Don't know why my reply didn't post under yours but the Alliance did exist in Warcraft 3... & Warcraft 2. Also the high elves were apart of the Alliance before the night elves. Units: Priests, sorcs, & in Warcraft 2 archers & Balistas. Stormwind was also invaded during the 2nd war but they survived & Rebuilt. Warcraft 2 campaigns cover this

Why make Wyverns into mass fiends?
@andrejchalas6799Ай бұрын
With taurens infront they have a big firepower so it would work. Problem was when Grubby noticed banshees and two temples so he canceled taurens. That made wyvs exposed, plus tc and bm weret "big enough" to carry
@happycarrot9381Ай бұрын
@@andrejchalas6799 Well ok, but I mean, Grubby always says how wyvs suck balls, so I found it strange to make so much of them with no transition to something else and even stopping the taurens. Just didnt really understand
@andrejchalas6799Ай бұрын
@@happycarrot9381 first off, Harstem was in a bad spot already facing ud expo. Grubby tried to surprise oponnent with an army ud doesnt expect and has a big potential. Troublesome was that ud went for perfect counter without knowing what Harstem builds. Another take is, Grubby wanted to show (and see) how will Harstem manage with such unconventional army as he is not only trying to make him get a win, but mostly teach him. Thats my take. And wyvs arent that bad, without alchi 3rd its very playable (unless you play againist ud expo massing fiends, that way he will outfire wyvs)

Grubby, I don't know how many of your followers know who all these people are. I think many of your audience are boomers like me who came to watch a professional boomer play a boomer game from their youth. I never see myself watching other people play. I don't even know what Twitch is? Is it an app? Is it a website? Only you and Warcraft can give this weird activity meaning. I really don't care about all the other streamers and games. They're probably nice guys, but to me they're people off the street. People off the street would be more original, by the way. These streamers are already quasi-celebrities, they have enough attention.
@CapeSkillАй бұрын
It's not about giving the streamer attention, it's about giving the game attention, and by collaborating with other creators, he can pull in the creator's followers back into the game. I thought as a boomer you would use your brain more, but alas, I suppose not.
