His refusal to take Keem’s phone call was wild. My uncle worked in Hollywood for 40 years. He produced and directed on movies and TV shows. Nothing gets pitched via email. Everything is pitched either face to face or over the phone. Having business meetings over lunch is a regular thing. One movie he worked on, the team would meet every morning at a restaurant for a breakfast meeting. Every single morning. Do you know why you don’t pitch things over email or text message? Because it’s very hard to get someone excited about an idea in writing. It’s just much easier to sell someone using your voice.

Another great video Steve. I appreciate you defining the avoidance personality disorder and it does actually help explain a lot of things with Phil. His relationships with his parents, wife, past friends and also audience seem to be kept at an arm's length away, like the only person DSP truly trusts in life is himself despite him being the spark and catalyst to many of his problems throughout his streaming "career" and into present day. Sometimes I get some serious incel vibes from him when he's confronted with things of a intimate nature and I suppose if he felt slighted by a girl or even a guy who he may have had stronger-than-usual feelings for, this disorder may have grown from that past scorn/rejection. I also wonder if this disorder is also a reason why DSP sees no problem in allowing these DMCA takedowns to keep happening because the detractor community certainly has a knack for pointing out and zeroing in on all of Phil's flaws and insecurities, also debunking his lies which he uses to cover for said insecurities. It is truly amazing how Phil didn't even try to reason with the insults that Keem has thrown his way over the past couple years but rather full-on embraced them, thinking that they would make him look like the bigger person but rather made him look like a petty fool and also got Phil to outright call himself a beggar without an ounce of sarcasm attached to it. I haven't been in the detractor community very long (maybe since the bank leaks) but it has been truly amazing to watch Phil unravel since Xmas time. He certainly pushed aside any sense of shame and begged harder, more frequent but also more forceful, almost to the point of demanding. I was shocked but not quite as shocked as his spiral since his birthday week because whatever shame Phil still had residing in him died after that because Phil murdered any sort of dignity he had left. He's been on a panhandling rampage and just the last couple weeks alone have left me ALMOST feeling secondhand embarrassment listening to him. I agree that he needs to be committed and it won't be voluntary either because his ego and shamelessness has been absolutely out of control with demanding money for his day off next week the day after his day off the current week and then going on to beg his audience for a new PC and all these mystery bills he keeps pulling outta his ass. I do think you're right in saying that there are going to be some that wise up to his act because Phil can't even keep his lies straight these days, usually contradicting himself within the same sentence at times but you're also correct in saying that he will likely always have a handful of ride-or-die patrons. If you asked me a year ago if I felt bad for some of his chatters I probably would've said "yes" to a small handful of them but now I don't really feel anything for them because the information that's out there on him is readily available and makes a lot more sense than a broken shower, plugged garbage disposal, ant invasion, multiple dump trips and all the other tall tales we've gotten over the last while from this insane beggar. As always, I appreciate all the work you put into these videos and it's been great seeing you appear on That Being Said a couple times now. Cheers buddy! Take care and get yourself some rest because you've sure as hell earned it after your podcast appearances and this gem of a video.

I am new to this video (not channel) but I strongly disagree with him being avoidant. While I can understand why Steve and others see that. I think there's just too much of his past that he has revealed (especially given he's terminally online) that just doesn't add up with an avoidant (also he probably would've cut his loses when he was SWATed if he was avoidant and ghosted the internet), I actually think if he's not a cluster b disorder (which I do think he is but let's be hypothetical) he's a cluster A paranoid personality disorder.
@spottyhead2 жыл бұрын
@@BoondockBrony Yeah you could be right, I just think that he divulges so much from his past is because he has so much time to fill in his prestream ramble-on. I don't always leave my place as much as I should but when I do go out it's usually for more than groceries and gasoline. I play beer league softball, the girlfriend and I go to movies, we go to her family's place for suppers. I'd have to read up on the subject of avoidance personality before I dig in my heels any deeper. But even Steve has said in past videos, these aren't conclusive diagnosis and that to actually narrow down things you'd have to sit down with the subject face to face.
@BoondockBrony2 жыл бұрын
@@spottyhead Oh yeah, armchair diagnosis are just that and I take it as such. I do however think and posted previously on my own comment that to me it's very clear that Phil's avoidant behavior isn't inborn (as in his natural personality slate for lack of a better word), it's a learned coping mechanism for his ego and paranoia.
@spottyhead2 жыл бұрын
@@BoondockBrony Oh I think you're right that it's a learned behavior. Probably had used it in the past with a minimal success rate with how he used it and has extrapolated it's use to other fields of his life and business. It's not healthy either way you look at it because the world doesn't wait for just one person. I could see Phil being one of those people in the early 90's saying the "The dot com boom is just a fad and will go away" as he digs in his stubborn heels and refuses to change early on but hesitantly changes his ways far too late in the game when the next phase is already taking hold

(I haven’t watched the video yet, so apologies if I I’m repeating Steve’s points) I think DSP fears that if his audience knows he takes the $50k, they will tip him less (if at all). He may have the self awareness to know that if he takes the money, be can’t cry poverty anymore. Without his cries of poverty, his disabled wales wouldn’t ship him that sweet sweet disability check money.

But I’ve worked in retail, I’ve worked in customer service and excelled at it, I’ve done theater, I’ve done standup, I’ve been in bands. But I still have social anxiety. It’s totally different when you’re performing. And with Phil it’s probably easier because he’s an empty room talking to a camera. There are no people there, just names on a screen. And he’s been doing it for several years so he’s used to it.

“I stay here on my streams and stay in my lane.” He says this to deflect the fact that he talks massive amounts of crap about other people on his stream and then pretends that he’s not starting drama because he didn’t do it on Twitter or on someone else’s KZbin channel. He pretends that his stream isn’t on the internet for everyone to see and isn’t posted to his KZbin channel forever. He talks more crap about people than actual commentary channels. How many rants did he say about PewDiePie during a gameplay stream or Pokimane during his podcast? Heck, the Keemstar stuff started because DSP heard Keemstar was retiring and proceeded to talk trash about Keemstar prompting Keem to clap back. Then Phil claims he doesn’t start drama. YOU STARTED THAT, PHIL!

@ 2:08:40 I think you nailed it as to why he avoids phone conversations. If you have ever listened to the old phonecall back during his competitive street fighter days where he calls in to talk shit to the host of the show, the moment the host starts talking shit back to him, he folds almost immediately and starts playing the victim saying "why are you so mean to me?" He talks a big game on his stream because he has control, but in real life I think he is non-confrontational. He knows if he got on that phone with Keemstar, he knows keem would've dominated the conversation.

Been binging your vids man and boy did this one hit close. I’m a recent detractor but this vid brought to mind something I saw from him recently. Phil let slip his most honest moment a few days ago without realizing it. It was along the lines of “I’m never going to get involved with someone involving making money THAT I CANT CONTROL!” I actually did a double take because I don’t think he realized what he actually admitted to. It’s not about money. It’s about money he can get, hence turning down any other content creator even If it would save him financially. Unlike many, I’ve agreed with keem in that Phil knows exactly what he is doing and what he is saying. He doesn’t believe any of what he spews as his entire existence is trying to convince others of what he is saying. He watches and reads all the forums and detractors points about him so he attempts to “head these criticism off” before they reach the dents. Him magically projecting criticisms he has gotten isn’t a coincidence. It’s about control 100 percent. I’m gonna throw these accusations people have said about me FIRST when he is in his stream. He then can claim he predicted what detractors would say to show how smart he is. It’s why he talks so much shit when he is streaming. It’s also why when he is not on his stream that he is suddenly nice and the opposite of how he is. He didn’t know what side scrollers were going to ask so he attempted to come off as nice and jovial etc. like they even said, it came off like he was trying to convince them. Since he didn’t know what people were saying about him, he didn’t realize how bad he looked. What happens the next day, Phil reacts to their stream and conviniently knows what parts to watch and skip while throwing out their criticisms as if he thought of them first. He then slots those criticisms into he pre existing excuses to show “evidence” that he was right. Hence His insane story of putting together all the evidence after the stream. He didn’t realize how stupid he looked so he had to backtrack and invent a reason why he didn’t send a screen shot. He watched the show, saw the criticism and magically invented a scenario which could explain it. Again, all about control

I don’t know that I’ve seen anyone mention this: it is par the course in the entertainment industry to call the person who is being considered for the movie/TV role, regardless of whether they are an extra or a lead, child or adult. Almost every time an actor tells the story of them getting a role, they “got a call” from somebody. A few years ago, I had a student who got an early morning phone call to let her know that she was going on MasterChef Junior. Phone calls are just easier when covering a bunch of information in a very short period of time because the entertainment industry thrives on speed (not that kind lmao).

In America it’s only “taboo” to talk about your wage in toxic work environments. It’s so employers can pay some people more/less without others being the wiser. People are slowly coming around to realizing this.

I'm shocked he still has a tongue from how much he's had to bite it. His logic loop of going from "I've never played a character and everything is 100% Phil!" to "um, I'm not a racist/sexist/homophobic POS! I was doing a bit and playing a character!". It's brain melting that people are so darn idiotic even when he STILL says and does those things to this day.

He keeps bringing up his back taxes, but he said himself he had caught up with them and had paid them off. It’s on video from a couple years ago. Around Christmas time, I think.

recording a phone conversation and using it in court might be a problem, recording phone calls for your own purposes is another thing. besides you can tell the other party you are recording for your own protection. beyond that all he would need to do is go over the contract. if its is different then what he said in other means like a phone call then don't sign it what i would do is stream the whole thing and monetize the hell out of it

@Steve I hope you caught the stream today (13/07/2022) but this is in relation to what you suspect is Khet being mad at him. Phil was complaining about Khet's cooking and he looked like he was drinking hard- right before a $150 tip cheered him up. I sense marital problems in paradise.

Big ups Steve for another marathon vid 🙏 DSP's Keemstar "debunk" was so cringe. I know you've said before that his narcissism only cares that he accepts his excuses (and not others) but how deluded must you be to believe this? Anybody that hears this with two brain cells to rub together would immediately see all his excuses are bullshit. Even people that had never heard of DSP. Even still, ALL of DSP's excuses could be easily addressed, but he accepts no correction, criticism or information. If he's worried about having a record of the call, then he can ask for Keemstar's permission to record it (assuming he needs his consent to do so in his state). DSP is so willfully ignorant of how the world works it blows my mind. Doesn't know how Twitter works, doesn't understand applicable law (bankruptcy, recording calls, identity theft, the list is endless). And the cherry on top is that he is so confident in his ignorance. How this guy manages to survive is actually fascinating. Some Grad student could get some excellent papers out of this I think.

Hi Steve, well this is going to take a few days to get through, it's almost a normal working day in length!! So Phil was talking about diversifying his content earlier this year, and with the usual pigroach luck this Keemstar opportunity lands in his lap. It's so funny how much of an own goal he's scored here. What a tool.

If you ever wonder how these videos are so long, refer to the portion of the video towards the end where Steve breaks out into a 20 minute, seemingly random discussion about "telephobia" because Phil said "that's silly." Jk love you

Hi Steve, I've been tossing around the idea that Phil wants written communication as the result of his tendency to misinterpret events. Most folks are aware they can misunderstand or misremember things, but I don't think Phil gets this, he seems to think any discrepancy is the result of others lying. Such circumstances would cause all manner of personal and professional problems. Written communication would, in his mind, hold others accountable to their word, but I think it serves more to provide Phil with a fixed version of reality that is harder for his mind to distort. Even if he does initially misinterpret the meaning, if a conflict arises, he can refer back to the document to correct (or at least attempt to correct) his understanding. We've seen many times where Phil's account differs greatly with the accounts of others and he will only concede he's wrong if a recording exists (sometimes not even then! heh heh). Might this be the reason he believes most everyone he's known or worked with are liars and have betrayed him? In the end, I suspect your interpretation is correct, but this idea has been bouncing around in my head and I figured I'd share.

All he had to was speak on phone then at end of phone call just say can you email all the details we went over like a contract ? It’s not really that hard for dsp with a business degree. To have worked this out as a adult he can’t work that out he don’t deserve anything
@delaybuster96112 жыл бұрын
@@Mark-si2wf Or he could say "Hey, since we're talking about a potential business arrangement, I'd like to record the call just to make sure my bases are covered." I know Keemstar didn't approach DSP with the deference Phil expects, but I'm sure he understands the importance of documenting things. And if Keem did object, DSP would have his ready-made excuse not to take the deal. It's like Steve said: DSP does not know how to interact normally with people. He expects everyone to bend over backwards to interact in way that favors him exclusively. How much money do you think this has cost him? I'd wager it's six figures.
@Mark-si2wf2 жыл бұрын
@@delaybuster9611 he had the best opportunity he’s ever going to get to finally stop begging, but he would hate to be out on spot about stuff as he would have to be with two other people. So he won’t have control over anything he’s just a 40 year old dent head

The 50 grand thing blows my mind. There's not a lot (legally of course and some not tbh) that I wouldn't do for that kind of money. Short of hurting my loved ones or myself, the skies the limit. So getting paid that much to sit there a couple times a week and shoot the shit with other lolcows, no question. I'd be down in a second. Want me to box too, Keem? I'm not trained but I'll jump in the ring with whoever you want if you got that kind of money on the line. lol
