You have a very Satriani-esque vibe when you are doing gained up stuff. I like it!

Andy Wood is a master at high gain tone creation, so those have to be good. From what I can hear from your live gig recording and what you do in your home studio, the wet effects sound superb. Jury is still out for me on the drives.

I have something to say about that. I also have a really good amp, mine is a Two Rock Vintage Deluxe. I received my VLP yesterday and after just a couple hours with it and I am very comfortable with it. It’s very easy to dial in and it gives incredible versatility, this is not an add. I’m just a normal guy who loves his music.

Those dirt blocks sound great! I'm debating whether to gig the VP this weekend. I have a couple of new pieces and I am scared to throw all the new stuff into a single gig debut 🙄😆

My pedal board currently has several overdrives pedals(mostly Wampler). I gravitate towards a Klon type tone through a Deluxe Reverb but am intrigued by the VP4 as a simplification to my board. I play in a classic rock cover band so I'm more interested in the drive options that the VP4 has and would be looking to replace several current drive pedals on my board with the VP4. So really the question I have is - are the VP4 drive block good enough to replace my Wamplers (Tumnus, Belle, Tumnus Deluxe germanium) ?

is it true you can have up to 4 fx?

The reason you liked your tone is because you used a good real amp.

With due respect to you and Fractal (I'm an FM9 user and I very much esteem your work as a guitarist and youtuber) but I find the driven tone are not convincing at all in this demo, I've had the real Jan Ray and it sounds much much more open, dynamic and transparent. But the issue is probably me not liking the way you set it rather the inherent sound quality. I'm on the waiting list for the VP4, anyhow, even if only to put it in the loop of my tube amp for modulations, EQ, delay, reverb and clean boost, it'll be a pedalboard simplifier. To me, what is really missing in this device is a TRS out to switch amp channels. Moreover, if they had wanted to make a really useful tool - more pricey, though - I would have added an internal cab load and an IR loader. It would have been larger and more expensive, but would become the perfect interface for a tube amp and I guess many people who are leaning towards hybrid rigs would buy it. My2C.

Your comment is respectful, so with all due respect to you, I think determining the intricacies of the sound of a pedal that's run into an amp and also other pedals that you're not intimately familiar with that you're hearing through a poor camera mic through KZbin compression is, at minimum, a difficult subject to adjudicate. What you might be able to do, though, with potentially more accuracy, is trust the guy making the video. He has experimented with a lot of live rig variations, and he is generally very honest. Anyone who's played a gig knows it's hard to feel good about your tone on stage. So, if he felt good about the live tone, you can reasonablely assume that it did what he expected it to do (or at least sounded "good") and, therefore, may well do the same for you. Also, as a side note, I read somewhere that they are intending to expand the features and functionality. At launch it doesn't come with a looper or an IR loader, but it sounds like those are the first two features they are looking to add. I vividly remember, but can't name the source; sorry.

If there’s one thing you can count on, Fractal will be releasing more features with future firmware updates… DynIR would be slick, if added….
@giorgiomusso85583 ай бұрын
@@shaharbar of course I know this, as I've written, I've been using the FM9. But what I wrote is different: the VP4 seems to have been designed for guitarists willing to play a hybrid rig with a real amp and a digital pedalboard. To this end, Fractal should have at least added a TRS out to switch amp channels, which I don't think they can add now. To me, if they also had added an integrated load box and IR (which would of course made the VP4 much larger and pricey) they could have designed the perfect interface for a tube amp. But maybe someone from Fractal will read and consider this...

A good reminder that all of these videos are ADDS. Not reviews, adds.
