jack that engine was fitted to the ford mondeo st220 in the uk. and they are a good engine but suffer from timing chain problems, i have one had a light rattle and just let go and destroyed the top end most used engines ive found are listed as having chain noise, might be worth changing it before putting the engine in they aren’t difficult to do

Is this more of a mileage issue than anything else? There are no timing chain issues reported in the Noble realm with these cars. The engine isn't just a drop in st220/Jaguar/Ford (insert a few models), Noble rebuild them all for lower comp and oil squirters to take turbo charging amongst a host of other small changes. Can't say i've heard of many Nobles in the 100-150k+ mileage range, maybe that's where chain issues start?

From my sample size it seems 2/3 irl nobles I've heard of have caught fire. I think one of the things to install should be fire surpression.

Oh man. Get ready. I rebuilt M400 chassis #128 about 10 years ago. Many of the parts I had to source from Rossion. The good news is a good amount of the structure is just 1" square tubing. Aligning and fitting the front clamshell was a pain in the ass. I think I still have a spare windshield around somewhere. Rossion would only sell me a crate with two at the time. 😂

just can't get behind v6 cars no matter how their "built" ... straight 6s v8s v12s even 4 cylinders (except subaru junk) are all great but v6s are just bad , they sound bad , they aren't smooth they don't typically make any power they are just eh

As a Brit who grew up worshipping the M12/M400, I'm really glad to see this car(s) finally getting worked on. It always made me feel slightly sad seeing the burnt-out car sat in the far corner of the shop in videos. Given how thorough Jack was with the Evo, I'm sure the Noble is in good hands. Can't wait.

That Noble would have been built in Barwell, Leicestershire on the industrial estate round the corner from my house, they've now moved up the road to Thorpe Astley in Leicester. Couple more fun facts, Ultima are built down the road in Hinckley as are Triumph Motorcycles.

Motor is out of a ford contour/Taurus here in the states. @Jack get the 6spd out of it they are problematic at the best of times. Get an MTX75 from a contour they are indestructible once you put a diff in them.

We've been chewing at the bit awaiting Jack's next build. This is a surprise! Can we call it a poor man's Dino? It's the right colour, basic design and engine package: updated by 30 years of technology. For Jack's sanity, I hope there is a parts manual in existence. Mercifully, SEMA is a long way off, so that time crunch won't be weighing on him... Yet.

Hi Jack love your new built How about we get the m400 to go-cart level Work with a partner to 3D print you an f1 style intake plenum and roof scoop Stank alone ecu and look and get it rolling After a first drive as an exo-cart then start into body work I think there is too much missing to “restore” this car and it would be best to make it a “Jack 400” Audi tt dash, eBay seats, Holly dash for the stand alone Polly carbonate windows and as it’s already a space frame add some cross bracing and leave the cage exposed. Powder coat the frame and arms and keep it simple low cost Maybe unobtainium would make you a tubular manifold Love your channel and I know you’ll do a great job no matter what

The M400 is not for everyone. It does not have driver safety aids such as air bags, ABS, stability control or traction control. The driver safety comes only from a factory racing harness and built-in roll cage. Just don't crash and you will be ok.

Hi Jack, just wanted to let you know, Ricky from RE Performance in the UK is also building a Noble, not sure what model his is but I know it has a twin turbo V6 but he's not using the Noble engine or gearbox as he's putting a Golf R engine in his so not too long ago he did a video saying a lot of the Noble engine and parts were for sale, worth contacting him to see what he has as he might have some stuff you need, keep up the good work 👍🏻

I always love "2 thrashed vehicles into one Good vehicle" projects Like this. I do think that if you are going to build it "better than stock, that fabricating aluminum front and rear sections would be the way to go. But at the end of the day it's up to each builder to decide what the goal for the project is, ie: 'what will make the best vehicle' - and the content creator to decide 'What will make the best content' Is the goal to make one better than the current Rossion Q1? Rossion Q1R? Is there any chance that they will sell you a carbon-kevlar body? or is that going to make it Cost-prohibitive?

Turbo duratec. May the odds forever be in your favor. Better get a baffled oil pan if it doesn't have one. That engine likes to starve itself on right hand sweepers at high rpm. Also run 6.2-6.5 quarters of oil. An Accusump is a great addition as well.

Hej and thanks from Sweden. Wonder why you guys never build your own enginetest stand to test out motors on before mounting them in to the cars you build. Built a few myself during the years and more or less a metal frame construction with a battery cooler and oiltank ready to go. Just a thought from an old fart swe mechanic.
