After bubbling with X-1 records all season, I finally managed to break through the top cut in a WGP and go pretty far with a deck that surprised quite a few.

DF: 'In JP we get alt art prize cards, it's crazy'. Me: you also get PR packs with FR foiling for Ride Lines, Triggers, etc. Alt art Promos for the effect triggers with the anime cast. You also get random event Promos like Nation cray OT arts, Halloween arts, etc. (Yes I'm a 'little' salty we don't get those and the regular deck defining promos are so hard to find) 😭

Congrats on the run. Really like your reasoning on what deck to bring. Team deck choice and meta reading is a factor I feel not discussed too much in Vanguard, even in the official livestreams they usually just talk about decks and not team comp so I hope there can be more talk like this. I come from a DCG background (Hearthstone) and their competitive side have a lot of thoughts going into how a lineup is built, which is also being talked a lot by the commentator. That’s something I really hope can be further explored in Vanguard as well. The Gandeeva vs. Wilista argument, oh this can be completely an entire youtube video. I really can’t express how I appreciate that we (especially in English where there’s less colab decks) have 2 completely different decks out there in the meta that are quite equal in power, not clearly having a favor/unfavor matchup, and have players rooting for either of the 2.

Is there a specific reason why the recent gandeeva decks switched back to the OG rideline instead of the half bavsagara rideline? Really appreciate your input on this, tysm

My guess is because the g2 makes your first use of Gandiva free, which helps accelerate bind and counteract damage deny. I love so much how even the rideline has a counter to absolutely anything you can do 😶

@@CosmicNebula444 yep I run the gr0-1 bav line for the shield search but I run the gr2 gandeeva unit for free gandeeva skill, I'm just not catching up wid the change recently, might've missed a vid from wcc hahah

@@skylineutopia8507 In the case of the g1, probably morr consistent hand advantage. There's always gonna be a game where you draw the shield post mul, and that 1 slot might be better off with an actual card

I think there's 2 reasons. 1 is the soul lost from using the bavs rideline means you less uses of Stirgna. 2 is that you could just run a better card instead of dud that you just use to discard.

One thing I am noticing in the JP meta is cutting down the CC, and almost running 3-4 of the dinosaur. The dinosaur I can understand so you can early rush and if you come up against the mirror, but why cut down on the CC if you use Gandeeva almost every turn (barring turn 3 since the skill is free) Also how would you sort out your heal triggers? Are vanillas the safest? Should I run the restand heal for wilista? The critical heal for Gandeeva? A mix of all? And congrats on being third!

Gandeeva power creeps the game an extreme amount, no shit you played the tier 0 deck in the tier 0 format haha. I know it's JP with broken stuff but Gandeeva is straight up that broken.
