getting around bottomless is why I chose flamvell magician yeah. It makes a lot sense to dodge bottomless if you are going into stardust because you can flat out ignore it and you are making stardust anyway for SDA. Since the plan is all in SDA it makes sense to focus on avoiding things that would be an interruption rather than spreading for DDV. If I chose a lvl 4 tuner that isn't magician I would choose mist valley soldier because 1. it is an out to spirit reaper and soft dupe lock 2. it is better than rose because I'm purposefully minimizing the warrior count in the deck as to not buff my opponent's colossal fighters also imo DDV isn't that crazy good against me, it's disruption against a combo deck so of course it's good but my monster count is quite low. I'm overextending every game so it's easy to already have everything committed before my opponent gets a 2k dark and ddv. Even if they land it I could just gadjiltron dragon beatdown after they -2'd. love the constructive feedback!

This deck is super cool, but I have to agree with you on hating magical mallet - as the adage goes, "don't add bad cards to make your good cards better."

It’s serving the purpose I pointed out in the video, but I will say from my magical explosion experience that aggressively searching for royal magical library with mallet feels bad but still wins games. This strategy is nearly as all in as that deck and arcane apprentice loosely fits the same role. With that said cutting it to 0 or even cutting upstarts entirely may be correct so I’m not going to press the issue to hard

This is an awesome deck profile dude - so cool! Have you considered running a magical exemplar? Seems like it could do some cool combos with all the spells you have in the deck. Just as an example, if you have apprentice in grave with any spell, exemplar allows you to do some of the same combos

@@Ganstergurke that is very difficult to answer. I have always been apprehensive about aiding out upstarts but in this deck I use it as “spill over” where I often side out 1 or 2. I follow the typical rule of generally trying not to side more than 6 cards. Exception to that is I nearly always swap out instant fusion for cydra and don’t count that toward my 6. Also you have to focus on maintaining a lot of normal summon ratio so while I want to take out the whole Dino package, I can’t because I just need monsters to summon to play the game

mind control has gone in and out of the main and side a lot. At the end of the day my tuners already have a very specific purpose. The way I see it mind control helps solve the problem of having/drawing too many tuners. That isn't an issue in this deck, I still feel like there are too few tuners even at 8 (9 if you count summoner monk) that being said it is one of the number 1 contenders for those last few spots. Nice catch!

I actually did! And honestly I haven't missed it. I'm always mindful of the situations where it would come up but they've been few and far between. Ancient Fairy Dragon is such an integral part of the combo that it's usually what I'm summoning with lvl 7.

@@Fidudeciary 1. side decking is difficult for sure. The most important thing is to maintain your normal summon ratios so the deck doesn't fall apart post board. I'm pretty big on siding out instant fusions for cyber dragons if I go 2nd but recently if my game plan for a followup game is to yolo a BRD, then I'll do both and that has been working quite well tbh. Once I have a comprehensive understanding of how I'd like to side then maybe I'll make a video for it. 2. I've testing both of those and they are both valid. The main thing I'm trying to accomplish is to have enough lvl 2 tuners that I can use AFD as a terraforming but also specifically having access to two lvl 2 tuners. Foolish and krebons/etele count as a tuner you can draw but currently all the tuners are either direct access to SDA with arcane apprentice or are standalone access to two lvl 2 tuners. Plague only has that ability if you naturally draw it so I cut foolish. Also to run foolish you'd need at least 1 other target to not brick on it. There are some cheeky ideas I have to squeeze foolish back in but the engine is so large, it's difficult squeeze anything in.
