Love how it turned out, but did anyone else tense up when she flipped her hair? I know they are knotless but my scalp screamed for her and took me back to a time when knotless braids weren’t a thing and it took 2 weeks for them to loosen up.

Hey, can anyone tell me, why the clients are supposed to oil their scalp? Doesn’t it look greasy over time? Great hairstyle by the way!! :)
@sergcolin3 жыл бұрын
just to help keep the scalp moisturized. braids are usually kept in the hair for a while and so the scalp can become very dry if you’re not moisturizing and tending to your scalp.
@fashnfun3 жыл бұрын
I thought the scalp gets oily over time? Cos mine does. Also curious if it’s possible to wash the hair with braids in or do they just dry shampoo? I’m just very fascinated by the whole process sorry if I’m asking very obvious questions 😊
@sergcolin3 жыл бұрын
@@fashnfun I suppose it depends on your hair as well. personally, my scalp gets dry. but a lot of people often will neglect their hair while they have a protective style in which you’re not supposed to do. so, it’s encouraged to oil and massage your scalp regularly to keep it moisturized and stimulated. you can wash your hair with braids in. I personally don’t bc my hair frizzes easily and washing it wouldn’t allow my braids to last as long as I would want them to. but, u can if u want to or use dry shampoo. it’s up to you!
@Cindy997653 жыл бұрын
It’s because the hair extensions are synthetic and can draw out moisture from the hair. People also wear box braids for a while, usually like 2 weeks to a month or so, so it’s important to keep the scalp oiled, especially since black people tend to have drier scalps,

I recommend the knotless method or the crochet braid method because it doesn’t hurt as much as conventional braids do. You can flat twist your hair gently for the crochet method or do twists for the knotless braids instead of using rubber bands.
