Speaking to Clay’s point at the end. It always shocks me how people who have problems with what he’s doing don’t take into account the number of animals he saves by procuring his own protein. If you had to go to the store for your meat, way more animals would have to give their lives. Most hunters I know have more respect for animals than anybody else I know. I really appreciate your content, it’s entertaining, and inspiring.
@darquone2238 Жыл бұрын
Wait, he is hunting a species that is ever on the decline due to humanity’s greed and you think this is a good thing? How f kid up is that? I don’t care how many cows or pigs people eat but to hunting a species that is ever on the decline? That is f’n pathetic on my end.
@swampduck2609 Жыл бұрын
@@darquone2238 what animal are you referring to? Bobcats are classified as “least concern.” Literally the opposite of endangered. Plus that is the one of most dense populations of Bobcats. And killing one animal and using all of that animal is not greed in my opinion.
@jimnisbet1969 Жыл бұрын
@DarquOne, Clay specifically mentioned the fact that bobcats are extremely populous in that area, nor is he merely killing an animal for sport. It’s food for him and his family. I live in Britain, where hunting with a bow is illegal, yet mass farming with inhumane conditions for the animal is legal and promoted. I would much rather eat a bobcat that I’ve ethically killed myself, over an unhappy cow or pig. And no, I’m not a vegan or vegetarian. I just think that actually stalking, killing, butchering and eating the animal (with respect to it) is far less pathetic than going to a store and buying a piece of meat without even caring. But thanks for sharing your skewed perception of reality. 👍🏻
@Dopiestlion9 Жыл бұрын
@@darquone2238 you should do some research before opening your mouth. In the state he is hunting there is an estimated population of over 200000 bobcats. Which there are only 3 states with populations over 200000. So don’t be saying stuff you know nothing about. If your going to sit on your butt all day, and complain about what someone does on the internet, you would be better learning some FACTS!
@antoniofranco77 Жыл бұрын
@@darquone2238 You have no idea what you are talking about. There's a reason you can hunt bobcats all over the states. Cougar can be hunted YEAR round in the state I live in. You don't care how many pigs and cows are slaughtered every day and you also don't care how dumb you are either.

Congratulations on the cat! Another great video. I’ve also squeaked in some opportunistic predators when hunting deer or turkey. I’ve also taken bobcat, but never with the bow. Thank you Clay for taking the effort of sharing this adventure with us. Really exciting and the food part is just unexpected, but you have my respect. The hunting situation and regulation is absolutety not comparable with our German laws and animal population. Bobcats and wolves slowly re-occupy the woods after being extinct for over 100 years. Bobcats were released from breeding in zoos. These predators are not even on the list of species for hunting, though single problem-wolves or -bears have been taken out by hunters with extra permit. These animals had killed sheep, cows and horses. Bow hunting is illegal, too, but limited experimental compound bow hunting for wild boar in big city parks is allowed, because rifle hunting would be too dangerous there. But I‘m just a bowyer, not a hunter anyway.

Love your videos and your way of life. I strive to be more like you and many others who live a more primal life closer to the natural world. I love to hunt as well and love to use my recurve and blow gun and eat everything I kill. So many people hunt for sport and throw their animals in a ditch after they post it on fb. You have a beautiful family and such respectful children and it shows you and your wife are really good people with good morals. And I feel your pain when the youngens start taking all the good shots and we get to kill less and less each trip but in the end that's the point to pass on the torch to the next generation. Won't be long and your boys will be taking you in the woods and putting you on the hunts and it's a beautiful thing. Keep on keeping on brother!
