Super great guy! We are from the same hometown, and a few years ago got to build a self bow with him - stay in the crunch🤙

Clay is perhaps one of the best ambassadors of traditional bowhunting (hunting in general) that we have in the community. Truly represents that salt of the earth personality often found amongst true outdoorsman. Glad to see him on your channel! Great video.

It’s pretty awesome that you can watch Clay build a bow from a piece of wood and really understand the origins of bow hunting. Then for you to make a little jab at yourself for what you shoot and he says “whatever makes it fun for you”. That’s so awesome that he has his passion and he wants other people to have theirs, and genuinely enjoy it even if he doesn’t do it that particular way.

Just when I think there's no way that I could look up to Clay more, he goes and shows not only how great of a teacher, role model, and bowyer/hunter he is, but also how great of a father and man he is. I genuinely idolize Clay and hope that some day I can share many of the same great characteristics that he embodies. ~McCoy

My wife and I where cheering him on he was by far my favorite contestant that season and now I know why he's a super chill person when it comes to what he does a lot of respect for that

Clay is the man, he was inspiration to me many years ago when he first started making videos on building bows! I built my first Osage self bow from his videos! and now I am building a hickory fire hardened bow also pulling from his knowledge! Just plain and simply my favorite on KZbin! Thanks for doing an interview with him!

Clay is a remarkable person who has made life choices that many people envy and respect. It took courage and self-confidence to walk away from a paycheck and strike out on a new and different course. Many follow and live vicariously through his work. Liz is equally remarkable. Great choice of a guest. I, too, watched season 8 rooting for his eventual success. I thoroughly enjoy the lifestyle and archery content his produces, however, don't much like the bushcraft stuff. Thanks for your content.

Awesome all around episode highlighting a real dude, who is a great man, teacher, survivalist, archer and hunter 😃🏹🦌 I liked the spotlight on his wife too and shoutout to her channel and the bow building. I really want to build my own bow someday soon. 🏹 Who would love to see Dan use one of his elk tags 🏷️ and chase one with a trad bow 🏹 ? What a challenge that would be on top of something already challenging. I am one of those guys that you are talking about who are absolutely bored with and soul crushed by working a dead end job. I need to figure out something soon and go for it! 😃

I enjoyed watching and learning from Clay on season 8 Alone. If I was ever stuck out in the wilderness, he is the one I would want to be stuck with. LOL I would very much like to purchase one of his bows or learn from him how to make my own.
