omg he's gorgeous! I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Bailey and she is the soppiest dog ever! She's also a rescue dog who was brought up in a family for her first year or so but then the family split up and they couldn't decide who kept her so they just gave her up and she was in the rescue centre for FIVE YEARS before I adopted her! She was one of the best behaved dogs in their, was always happy to welcome people as they walked in the gate (the rescue centre was a big farm style place because they rescue loads of other animals too) and Bailey was one of the ones allowed to just stroll around the yard and do whatever all day because she was so well behaved she wouldn't get in the way of the volunteers or anything she'd just be there quietly and patiently waiting for a cuddle. I used to go up there with my sister and our friend to walk the dogs for them and she used to be the first one to come up and say hello and of the three of us I was the one she'd always run up to and just up and me for cuddles, I swear she knew I was gonna be her new mummy before I even did because when I started doing it I wasn't looking to get a dog I just wanted to help but it just kinda happened :) she's so good for my depression because she's always there to comfort me when I need a cuddle :)

I'm actually getting my dog registered as an emotional service dog soon bc she's always been such a comfort when I was having anxiety attacks on the daily. She's kept me from having many in fact. She's always there immediately if she sees me distressed or crying and either hugs me or just leans on me and let's me know she's there for me. Dogs are so great for people with mental issues, I'm glad you were able to adopt the little dude ♡.

I've been a cat person all my life. I recently got a dog this year and it has changed me. This dog has taught me so much about loyalty and unconditional love. And when I was severely depressed, the fact that.my dog depended on me to live is what kept me going. Awww Scooby's adorbz! I have 7 dogs... 1 German shepherd who's 16-17, 2 Miniature Pinschers both are 11, 1 "doxiehuahua/chaweenie who's 8, 2 chihuahuas one's 5 and the other 4... the "baby" of the pack is a 22 month old chocolate lab who weighs 90-95lbs (the shepherd is tiny for the breed weighing around 40-45lbs). One of my chihuahuas is my service dog for ptsd and other "psychiatric" issues... I self trained him from 6 weeks old, he's now 5... he's trained to alert when I get overwhelmed or start to panic... he has also taught himself to alert when my Hubz's blood sugar trips out. I retired the shepherd in 2012 due to her advanced age. As soon as the lab out grows the puppy energy she will continue her mobility, anxiety alert, grounding as well as some guide dog.techniques (I suffer from ptsd, anxiety, depression, lupus, Crohn's disease, fibromyalgia AND I am legally blind... the chihuahua can't perform mobility and/or guide work as he's only 3lbs. My chihuahua's "grounding" technique is when he senses; in most cases he knows before I'm cognitive of the behavior; that I'm becoming "uncomfortable", agitated, over stimulated etc. he will first stand up in the shopping buggy and place his paws on my hand, if I don't react or my ptsd/anxiety has escalated rapidly he will climb out of the shopping buggy into my arms. He then will stand on my forearm as a "block" between myself and the situation. If you're like myself and have multiple health concerns where a service animal would be beneficial but no organization would or can't assist then consider training Scooby to fit your specific needs.

Awww what a cutie. I can see the joy in your eyes and in your body language and as well as hear it in your voice. I wouldn't know how to function without my big baby. She has been through a lot with me. I got her with an ex bf who was abusive to me. I literally left him with plans to live in my car. It was that or die. When the cops went with me to get my clothes he was gone and his family who lived nearby said he left for good. My poor dog was all alone so in the car she went. A boss at my work helped us out and thankfully he and his family loved her too. At a few points I thought I would have to give her up because it wouldn't have been a good life for her but by the grace of god we managed to stay together and she's my best friend. My family spoils her just as much as I do. Even my roommates spoil her. I come in from work after they lay down for bed and their dog had started wanting to go to bed with them even though she sleeps with me at night so they would leave the door open for my dog to come in if she wanted to and they would put their dog in the bed. Theirs is a 25lb Scottish Terrier and mine is a 60lb mutt that's likely a Corgi possibly mixed with a Border Collie and who knows what. My dog started acting like she wanted up too so I come home every night to my big dog and their little dog wedged between my roommates and mt dog flapping her tail so hard in their faces.

I have three dogs; hogan, Billy, and molly, two horses; peanut and buck; and a cat moun moun!!! Hogan is a St. Bernard black lab mix from a rescue as well he has metal hips cause the people before us tied him up to the car ran him over and dragged him (I'm assuming so he wouldn't grow anymore) and must of beat him with gloves on or something cause he turns into a different dog around someone with mitts on. Moun moun we found at two and a half weeks old abandoned by his mom after he got stuck in a wood pile. The dogs actually helped raise him so he is more so a dog then cat, he doesn't know how to use a litter box he goes outside with the dogs, plays fetch, and loves walks! Buck was rescued from a horse meat market. he still deals with some issues but is overall a great horse. :) I hope scooby has a wonderful life! "I wanted a puppy because I wanted a reason to get up in the morning" ... oh Shannon, you remind me so much of myself sometimes :( I did the EXACT same thing, and I LOVED that dog with my whole heart, but my depression/other mental health issues could not be conquered even by my love for him. So I was unable to give him the amount of exercise and care he needed. He would misbehave as a result of this under-stimulation. Ultimately I had to rehome him, because it wasn't fair to him. It really broke my heart. I had him for a year, and we were together 24/7 during that time. He came to work with me, he went to sleep with me... he was my best friend. I still very much want a dog, but obviously I need to work on myself some more before I can be a suitable owner.

*sorry it's long* I loooove this video, it's not the first video I've watched from you but this just makes me relate to you soooo much. I was having a very bad time and finally decided to ask my mom to get a dog (at a shelter) to push myself to take care of a dog (we had cats already), go outside and meet people too since I have social anxiety. He was my only 16th birthday gift and the best one ever (I'm now 6 months away from being 18). My shepherd mix (maybe with a form of dwarfism common to German shepherds) Louis turned my life around ; we went to our local SPCA at the same time an adoption event was held (free starter kit with every dog and cat adopted the two days) and met our dog. He was about 10 weeks old too, funny enough, and no one got him because he has a pretty bad heart murmur. There are big risks with that (might die early, might've died while under for his sterilization) but we got him anyway. Now, a year and a half later, he is doing amazing and is healthy, happy and in great shape. I think he knows that we pretty much rescued him and are giving him the best life he can ask for, filled with love and playtime. Hope everything goes well for you with your Scooby, it really is an amazing thing xox

i don't have a disability but i have many psychological issues and i think i could benefit from a service dog so i'm going to talk to my therapist about it. i know they are for disabled people but i have panic attacks and anxiety and clinical depression and etc. so having an animal to help me would be amazing but it probably won't happpen

disabilities aren't only physical, mental illnesses can count too! you would most likely qualify for a service dog! they can be costly and require constant training while they're young, so an emotional support dog is always another option too. (p.s. if you want to, look up the spoon theory if you haven't already because it's created an online community of disabled people, both physically and mentally, and lots of us have service dogs. a great spoonie youtuber who makes videos about hers is Jaquie Blake and her dog Harlow 😊) good luck to you 💕

Scooby is so cute ! I have two dogs, two cats, a parrot and a koi pond in our yard. Our dogs are pretty small and I like big dogs better aswell but they are sweet dogs nontheless. I hope scooby can comfort you when you really need it and be the loving friend you deserve.

I had two dogs, both mixed,they were like my brothers because we grown up together (I was five when we rescue the oldest one,and seven when we rescue the youngest) , they both died last year,man I was and im still devasted,But I also feel super grateful for the almost 20 years they lived.

I have 3 dogs in total. 2 miniature poodles and 1 chihuahua. One poodle is black and white, named Oreo, the sweetest little dog ever, sees everyone as a friend. The second one is a cream color, named Paolo. He loves to bark and protective over me and my mom. And lastly is my chihuahua, named Cha-Cha. She thinks she's a big dog when she's so little. Always trying to challenge a big dog. She once scared a dog 3 times her size just from her barking.

He literally looks like my dog, Leia. She's around a year old so shes still a baby herself! But she's that same exact brindle color. We believe shes mixed with pit bull and chocolate lab. Fur babies are so special

He's adorable, and he looks just like my Scooby! (named for the same reasons) To help him get used to the lights, have super yummy treats that he only gets during camera time and when you have the camera and lights on call him over and give him a treat. Or if he comes to you willingly give him a treat. They soon overcome the fear of the camera and lights because they know they get the extra special treats :)

He's so damn cute! Right now, I have 3 cats of my own (Nirvana and Bentley--short haired black cats, and Spartacus--a brown tabby), but I'm a vet tech, so you know this girl is gonna be adding a couple dogs to her family as soon as we get out of the apartment and into a house! Props for adopting -- may you be blessed with small vet bills cause he's not an inbred mess 😜
