I Got a Flat! Winter Downtown Toronto ebike Ride... (Feb 2023)

A winter ebike ride around downtown Toronto. It ends earlier than expected when one of my tires got a flat.
1:20 - South on Yonge Street (from Davenport)
2:40 - East on Bloor Street East
3:45 - South on Church Street
12:50 - West on Richmond Street West

Good morning Johnny! Sorry to hear that your ebike had a rear flat tire towards the end of the premiere! It happens! I remember a few weeks ago when I was riding my ebike around my area, the rear tires of my ebike also had a flat tire and didn’t even realize what was wrong with it. I then realized that my rear tires didn’t have enough air so probably that was the case in my situation. Anyways, I hope the rear tire of your ebike is now fixed! Have a good Thursday!

Great ride, this one was fun! Felt sad for you with the flat. It really is a cool bike though, zips along nicely. At least you were able to pull off on to a relatively quiet little street. I don't know about you, but I always feel vulnerable when stopped at the lights, when right up at the intersection. Not so much of getting hit by a vehicle, but more like some weirdo pushing me off my bike haha That would be on my tiny ninja, which is not much bigger than your ebike. The route was great. I especially love the U of T area. Ride safe, walk safe. Supposed storm coming up again, tomorrow night (Friday).

@@yycmountaingirl Ah okay, I thought you just used a model pic off the internet, lots of people like to do that. Also, I never said anything negative about Johnny. I enjoy his rides and banter. I like to play long running videos in the background while I work, which is why I subscribe to Johnny. I don't pay much attention to it. Also I am from NYC and used to live in Toronto so it is nostalgic for me. I just didn't think there'd be many other people like me that would watch these types of videos as they are pretty repetitive and dull, that's all.

You should be running tire sealant in all your bikes/scooters. I use Armor Dilloz which is considered one of the best.

We have the same ebike. Curious to know what you did just in case it happens to me. Were you able to get the tire fixed and did you take the bike on the subway going home. That bike is heavy AF. Goodluck and ride safe.

Repair and run on Queen is usually where I take my ebikes. I just brought it home on the subway, you can twist the throttle a little bit to help you as you push but be careful. Cheers

UGG bike cyclist nightmare a flat tire. My ebike tires were fine when I got home but days later when I was about to ride the front tire air was low. FILLED it up with air and it is fine. I believe I hate a serious bump on the way home last time I rode it and after parking it a few days some air came out so far so good the tire is fine

FYI, Johnny. I have a fat tire, and bought and installed two products to help with flats. I bought Tannus Armour, and FlatOut for both tires. It's now 2,100 kms and no flats. I'm also a careful rider. I know Tannus is a pricey option, but it's so worth it. Nothing will prevent flats, ultimately it's a game of chance whether we do or don't, of when we get one. But for me, those two additions have been phenomenal.

They put the damn no right turn sign next to the light to make sure the driver sees it yet they are turn signaling right...modern drivers are terrible, I was almost hit twice this week on the crosswalk but apparently it's not exclusive to my country, drivers are ignorant or just dumb everywhere.

You then proceed to the middle of the intersection on red and turn left. You can't go through the intersection when it's red. Are you saying the Toronto Police would say what you did is legal?

Wow, you are a hypocrite. At 1:40, you go through a pedestrian crossover with a pedestrian halfway through, while you post shorts complaining about cars doing it. You're doing 20 and don't even slow down. What makes you above the law? The Highway Traffic act says that "drivers including cyclists must stop and yield the entire width of the roadway (wait for pedestrians to clear the road) at: pedestrian crossovers".
