The guy is giving you a car. Stop trying to school him and let him talk. He's been working, restoring and around these cars longer then you been alive and is a wealth of knowledge, not just for the car, but local history. He's got more to tell you then you have to tell him. I'd get so excited I use to do the same thing until I realized that I learned more with my mouth closed and ears open as an old timer once told me. He chose you to share his legacy with, let people like him have the floor. Your only going to benefit from it. The car Gods of wisdom and fortune went and pooped an amazing car right on your lap. Good for you. Now say 10 hail Packard's and thank you, may I have another. Thanks for sharing

I love the 1930s automobiles also. The 12 cylinder and 16 cylinder engines they built for those automobiles and the chrome jobs were just beautiful works of art. Back then they weren't obsessed with miles per gallon because fuel was cheap and abundant. I'm 49 years old, and I appreciate anything 1930s; people dressed well whenever they were out in public.The music was good too. No, that was a Hudson not a Packard. You can see the logo every time they take off the motor minder to fill the radiator. Packard, Cadillac and Lasalle limousines, ambulances were routinely cut up after they'd done their duty back then to make tow trucks, with the longer wb and lower gearing they could move a ton of metal around pretty easily. We sold one we found converted into a tow truck on Long Island a few years back to the guy who restores Packards for Ralph Lauren's collection. It drove out of the garage running off a nurse tank after the ignition contacts were cleaned up a bit, not bad after sitting for fifty some odd years.
@snoopu26014 жыл бұрын
@ thanks for sharing your story very intrastine like sitting for 50 year's then just tinkering around with it change the oil and gas plugs and wire's then it starts. Mon if you see one of these China or Japanese car's sitting for 50 year's and going to start that's if someone likes the look to keep it around that long or even a 100 year old car. I own a 1947 Chevy coupe stylemaster for the last 10 year's I've been the care taker of it until the next person wants to be the care taker of it.
