Hi Scott. Glad you're enjoying your work. Just noticed that after your advert, the camera showed the back of your truck, and the trailer is showing Dutch plates. Could this be the problem with your speedometer changing from MPH to KPH, re the cables connecting from trailer to cab? Also, the beeping noise. Trucker Jenko seems to have had a similar problem on his lorry in his last job. It would only beep when he turned right

I have a 23 plate 520 and it does my head in every time I turned of the Tacho goes to break plus the miles turn to kilometres and the worst thing the air tank a so small that ever time I hook up I have to sit there for ages to bring up the air just to set off

Hey Scott nice video we got tho man ones 21 and the rest are 22 plates the speedo will be down to a system setting you may have todo a system reset in the main control and put it back in to mph the side beeper we normally just turn off the TV screen if you got one.

We have the new MAN, ours all change from mph to KMH everytime, but according to the local dealer its us drivers not setting it properly. However most 23 plates have the issue with the speedo but they don't know how to fix it.

I drive a 23 plate MAN, it also reverts back to km. the horn is a car horn the sat nav is rubbish. Other than that it’s not too bad.

We also got them but the 22 plates I was told the sat nav has 4 setting in it I found out the hard way never trust or use the truck sat nav.

Think if it's a EU spec unít, but rh drive for UK, a quick visit to a MAN dealer or authorised maintenance dealer, a quick plug in with a laptop should do the trick. 👍

The issue with the speedo changing from MPH to kph is a common issue. We run a 72 plate MAN and it has the same problem!

Re the Tesla, you’d get an auto licence if you learn and take your test in it - you’re not driving a manual with a clutch and it has only one gear. Well that’s my theory.

Just Googled re Tesla test. Have not read any comments below, but you pass your test for automatic cars only. If you want to drive manual, its back to driving lessons and passing test in normal cars

Inn Norway if you take your drivinglincens with Manuel you can drive atimatic and if you take the driverlinses with automatisk you can only drive automatisk i have a Electric car can drive both

Be careful with the electronic handbrake, I’ve had it release wile outside of the cab. Make sure they are in neutral before you get out the cab! The kph/mph saga may be as it’s not in custom mode in the menu also

You change the km/mph in the custom mode but switches back when you turn the ignition off and lock the doors. Ours if you set it to mpg for fuel consumption will literally switch back as soon as you press the set button. Its a nationwide fault with all the 23 plates onwards but they don't know how to rectify it. Someone said its because the wiring loom now comes from a different factory ( used to be made in the Ukraine) and its these new looms which are causing the issues which they don't know how to fix.

Hi Scott as far as changing to kph every time the truck is started, I would speak to one of the company mechanics, might just be a master default setting that only the dealer can fix. because usually only the setting in the trucks settings that can be changed by a driver, another option is they have got a default setting that over rides the last driven setup. as I know with a car it just goes to however it is setup on the user defaults. or another thing could be the computer isn't powering the default settings when the truck is switched off, like a no 12v backup power cable to provide power to the computer, but that would also include power for things like the clock on the dash as well, tachograph would be on a different power connection.

if you learn in an electric car, it would definately be classed as automatic, because there is no clutch pedal in an electric car, and unlike a 2nd entitlement then you have to get at least one test pass in a manual vehicle to drive a manual car. but after 824 miles in the passed 20 days, I prefere electric, apart from having to charge it nearly every single day in the service station for a couple of hours. could go with less of a charge but when a dog has gone missing last thing you want is to run out of charge, the major down side is the push forward for reverse, and pulling the shifter backwards to go forward. as normally you would expect the opposite, and even with driving up loads of deadend roads in the passed 4 days, still not used to it. had my car written off last month by an inexperienced car driver. so made an early switch to electric car, rather than an automatic.

@@michaelthomas3646 ...the stupidity of having to pull the AutoShifter back for "D" (Drive) and push it forward for "R" (Reverse) has been annoying me for the past 20 years or so here in North America....mind you, on my last 3 Dodge Ram Pick-Ups, I've got a rotary shifter, so it's not that much of a problem, but these rotary-shifter have other idiosyncrasies that take getting used to (heaven forbid you want to open the drivers-door while backing-up to get a better view where the trailer is heading....the brakes apply automatically...and will only release after having placed the gear on "P" (Park), shut off the engine & restart it....grrrr).

Licence you attain after a test depends on how many pedals the car has - 2 pedals would lead to a ‘78’ restriction code meaning automatics only. 3 pedals would be unrestricted. There are then derogations for modified pedals etc but usually you’d need to be registered disabled to get one of those restrictions and modifications. So long as you passed your car test in a manual you can pass a lorry/bus test in an auto and still get manual entitlement for the higher categories. It’s almost a pointless theoretical question but what would happen if you pass your car in an auto but learnt hgv/bus in a manual? In my mind you never had a manual provisional for the higher categories to begin with.

Electric car gives you an auto licence. The youth of today are favouring auto licences as they are easier to pass and the general consensus is the Gov is banning petrol/diesel motors so everyone will soon be driving an auto regardless. Lest that's what the driving instructor told me that I deliver too.

I scott,fun video mate,and a bridgwater drop! On the roundabout before you turned in,theexit that takes you to the garage and other places used to be waste ground when i was doing tipper work for S Roberts,tipped a few ton in there ready for the development! Not a fan of new trucks,they have the wrong character,some drivers get nagged at home,the last thing you want is to be nagged all day by yer truck!! We had collision alarms in our suzuki ignis,it would go nuts when approaching a roundabout because there were bollards,hated that car! And the abs scared the s*#t out of me the first time it activated,it sounded and felt like the wheels fell off,not kidding!! Keep it shiny side up!!
