in lol, silence stops you casting CHAMPION abilities (AND CHANNELS) and roots stop you casting MOVEMENT abilities. this is inherited by (to my knowledge) all CC variants in the game. so because flash is a movement ability its vulnerable to CC, but most sums (ignite, exhaust, HEAL, BARRIER, SMITE) can be used while CCed. its a common misconception, there's a pekin video where he's in disbelief his zyra root didn't stop fiddle ult CHANNEL. but it doesn't under the interactions i just laid out.

@@keymaster16 since you mentioned silence I’ll bring up that silence also stops you from casting summs in addition to champ abilities. I’m sure everyone who has tried to flash away from a Garen mowing them down has had this drilled into their bones

@@trolltroll4557 your partially right, i forgot silence also stops you from casting movement summs (you can GHOST while silenced btw), but you can still exhaust a Garen while silenced, which is my usual answer to that if i somehow think garens going to be relevant that game
