Dear Brent. I don't know if you realized but your "little" project has grown already beyond Cerro Gordo! Indeed, everything he's experienced in the last 3 years are analogous to the experiences of the original pioneers who made the town a success. The technology he's using to solve problems may be different and more advanced, but many of the struggles - the weather, securing and transporting building materials, getting water in the desert, and so on are all the same struggles that they had to figure out 150 years ago. Heck, even Brent's decision to sell everything he owned to move out to the middle of the desert and start a new life is not terribly different from many of the stories of the miners who ended up in Cerro Gordo during its heyday - even if his motivation to preserve the existing history may differ from the motivations of those original settlers to just earn money in the mines (or from the miners), he's still a modern embodiment of their indomitable will and unwavering pioneering spirit to make the town a success.

The owner of said bar was willing to give up that history to someone who will respect it and looked after it. If it had of went to anyone else they may not have gave a damn that it was a brunswick bar and sent it to the landfill. By that bar ending up in cerro gordo has saved your history as I'm sure when the hotel opens and people stay at it he will be paying respect to where he got it. When it comes to the hotel and the town in general someone else could have bought it over and just bulldozed the lot. I don't know if you guys take this into consideration but the vast majority of the modern world don't give a damn about history. Think of this. How many people visit any of the towns along route 66. ( the mother Road that made America ) None. I just watched a video documentary on it and the two who created the video where the only people on the road. Everyone else was on the interstate highway right next to it driving on past like everyone did after it was built. This man has done more for American history than the average American that prides themselves on it so don't dare speak down to him. You should all be ashamed.

2 bars in the town I live in have historic bars. One is exactly like this one and the other came all the way from England...... There's a whole story behind them both. Great places. Good talking points when you're at either bar.

Wow, Golden is on the list now! What an adventure this whole video was. I seriously love watching every one of your videos. Love all the work you and your team are putting into the production, keep on keeping on Cerro Gordo friends.

Once again I'm blown away with your ability as a storyteller. Cerro Gordo wouldn't be near as much as it is without your ability to tell its story to the world be it the past, the present and maybe the most important, the future. When I saw you a few weeks ago I think I referred to you to a visitor as the Ken Burns of Cerro Gordo. Great job.

Your energy is so contagious and it is what I love about this channel. Who know picking up a bar could be so exciting to watch. I hope to one day purchase a beer and whiskey from the America hotel and soak in the views of Cerro Gordo with my own eyes, I have been mesmerised for such a long time. Big love from Townsville, Australia 🇦🇺

I find it incredible that you fit so much content into such a small timeframe! I could literally watch these if they were an hour long. Kudos on content, editing, and your perseverance!!

From one Texan to another, I’m glad your brought a little piece of Texas history to California! Definitely going to be out there soon.

A perfect match. I'll bet some of the same characters that visited the American Hotel in 1800s California, sat at that same bar when it was in Texas.

From what I hear, this could be considered a rarity. Something or someone relocating from Texas to California. It's usually the other way around!! 😂😂😂

I’m so very happy to see you so excited again. I know that the American hotel being open has been a huge motivation, and that this special piece has rejuvenated your spirit. Can’t wait for the next video.

Being a pool/billiards fan it was great to learn about the link between the bar and the pool tables I know. Just you mentioning Dave Sparks made me smile. And I just find it funny that for the moment the bar sits in a church, I think church ladies would not approve :)

Wish my husband was alive to help you install that beautiful bar . He was an excellent custom cabinet maker. From one of the oldest cabinet companies in los Angeles.

Good evening brent.its odd seeing fort Sumner on the map. When you were at the grave, if you would have went another 200 feet south on the county road, and made the left. You would have ended up at my family's ranch, on top of the hill. This video, hits my heart. Good to see the tiny little place.
