For real. He knew he isn't the best fighter and has a bit of work to go but is humble enough to show his progression.
@BornInPhillyPA2 жыл бұрын
Well. Yes. He was smart enough to skip showing us most of the form, stances, and footwork, plus all the head movement shadow boxing drills that led up to the pad work and sparring. From the pad work, we know he has good head movement and decent combos in his bag of tricks. But like Mike Tyson's said, "Everyone's got a plan until they get hit." Toast has good footwork. Advancing retreating. Moving away from corners. I just hope he remembers to get moving his head, and throw 2 or punch combos or flurries and not just single shot jabs and hooks. The coach is right. Everyone is head hunting. Looking for the coup de gras straight off the bat. Body shots after a jab are devastating. He tagged Michael with a good shot to the midsection at the end. If you can knock the wind out of your opponent early, you kill the cardio, and they get slow to react. Yes. Protecting your head is very important, but it leaves the mid section open. This is where changing elevation and head movement comes in. When you rewatch Michael's fight with Stephen Graham, Mike had great head movement and footwork. Graham looked like Toast in this sparring vid. No up and down change of elevation, no head movement. The difference is Toast had a little bit better footwork than Stephen. Stephen never really seemed to launch an advance, only circled or retreated. If I was a coach for these kinds of boxing matches, that are basically 1 and done, I would teach right handers to use south paw stance and fight like Bruce Lee. Put your dominant hand up front to keep flicking jabs. Save to weaker left hand for a devastating liver shot to end the fight quick. It ain't sexy like a knock out, but bro. Liver shots are a mind fck. You can think. You can feel pain. You just can't control your body including your ability to stand or breath. That's a mind blowing humbling experience that will make most people quit an "exhibition match". Michael should try to learn counter punching at this point. Just learn to be patient, and look for opponent to commit to a move that creates an opening for his heavy overhand right.

@T S yet all you had to say was that? Do tell then. C'mon, elaborate, if you can
@ThePyranthos2 жыл бұрын
@T S see, you seem to be forgetting a few things. 1. Toast isnt even that comfortable throwing rights. Favoring his off hand now is actually better training than tryin to learn it when hes already locked into a comfortable stance routine. People do tend to struggle fighting south paws, and boxing skills improve with a bit of ambidexterity (though that rly depends if toast wants to go that hard on training for an exhibition match) 2. Mike Tyson was a massive fan of the liver shots bc theyre highly effective, and set up his devastating uppercuts. Im no pro fighter, but ive been in lots of real fights and done lots of sparring. Nothing he said was inherently wrong, just not necessarily what toast needs. I do get what youre saying, and youre mostly right, but theres other variables to also keep in mind. I personally wish i had trained with my left, but meh. Its a good shield/fast jab, just not as heavy fisted as id like

You can see that Michael is more natural, but maybe cuz their environment growing up. As we all knowz Michael is more.. chaotic. From their forms during the spar, you can see Toast is more loose and tall. But Michael was more tight and curve. Michael was able to defend and attack real fast but Toast had a harder time defending cuz despite his hand was there, there wasn't much strength. When Toast has 1 hand attacking, his other hand isn't kept close to his face, that's why he's vulnerable when he's attacking. Michael is a natural, shEEEsh. I hope toast actually puts in the work. I don't want him to lose

I'm sure he will. but yes I'm worried. I need toasty to win 😐

There is barely any time left and he still looks scared, doesnt punch with force and cant take a punch. I love Toast but the other guy would have to severely suck in order for Toast to win

Michael's footwork is pretty damn good. Wonder how long he's been training, because that's not easy to learn.
@ronaleelopiga29272 жыл бұрын
Despite him saying that he'll never do it again, I think he still trains! He might've loved it and decided to put it as part of his workout routine He does still have his boxing equipment

@@ronaleelopiga2927 Im pretty sure he literal said towards the end when the couch says he's still good and his reply was he keeps training every day. So yea I'm assuming he still trains lol

He almost seems unrecognizable from the version he was back in Creator Clash. Faster, stronger, better ngl

I think the ability to establish the jab is what gonna make toast fly. I know it sounds cliche and everyone should "work their jab" but the man is literally built for it. Just from the pad work and sparring session, you can see his jab looks very snappy but he doesn't believe in it. He is gonna be a problem for anyone when he understands his own reach, jab variety, triple jabs, and jab pivots. I'm excited as a boxing fan, hobbyist, and OTV viewer!

I thought the same thing. His jab looked surprisingly good, but he's still learning distance and I think he was just generally nervous to fight Michael.

Michael's instincts are so Sharp Even his coach Didn't Anticipate Michael to throw a punch during Punching training 💀☠️💀☠️

I’m actually very impressed by you toast. For a non fighter you did really well and I see a lot of potential, keep up the hard work can’t wait to watch u win ❤🎉

Really appreciate the slowdowns and circling the fists that connect in big blows. I find boxing difficult to follow and that really helped me understand what was happening during the spar.

This is a much needed confidence booster for Toast. You can see the posture shift and demeanor after getting bopped hard. keeper goin

I’m glad some of these content creators take the sport seriously, it really has taught me a lot unironically, it sounds corny but the discipline of getting up for training really facilitates good habits, I really am grateful for how supportive and encouraging the MMA community is, my coach did so much for me inside and outside of the sport, he’d make sure everybody ate before they went home or would eat when we get home. The sport for sure will always have a special place in my heart

Michael's coach must be pretty smart. His style is quite counter focused, which makes sense looking at his reach.
