I've had fights where this was the norm for almost every round. You find every advantage you can. Legal and tactical.
@crazedmonk8u2 жыл бұрын
This is why I am not a fight of touching gloves at all. Boxing, MMA, nothing. just come out of the ring ready for action. Seen too many fights where people get tagged after a glove touch that changed the whole game, just seems silly. Even if its a legal tactic you're kinda forced to touch gloves if they offer cause its "bad sportsmanship" not to. Hey sometimes fighters like to be outside the clinch not in it, in mma some people got bad takedown defense. Telling that fighter to touch gloves and expose themselves willingly to defend a sudden off the glove takedown or hook is just Asasine.
@Kriddle12292 жыл бұрын
"glove touch insta gib is to be expected" No. While I agree it isn't as big a deal as people are making it. And Mike didn't do it to get a cheap shot on purpose. Let's not pretend that this is something that is normal and clean. Legal =/= Clean. I've been fighting in amateur MMA for 9 years. Most fighters will tell you to be ready for it just in case and to have your gloves up for when that bell rings. NO fighter will tell you that it's a clean, respected highly regarded tactic. Again, Legal =/= Clean.

People need to understand that in a fight, whether a friendly fight, a real fight, or even a street fight, unintentional hits happen. They are literally moving, punching, and dodging 60+kmph hits, there is no way for them to control the exact places that these hits will land. That's why the ref and warning calls are there for a reason. And another thing, the sympathetic nervous reflex is there to protect the wellbeing of a person. It is a survival reflex of the body when in a stressful situation, such as a boxing match. Landing some cheap shots and punching while hugging is difficult to control especially if you're a first time boxer. That's why the phrase "control your nerves" exist

Longer fight means you've got to take into account you're stamina your opponent's stamina and control your attacks so you don't end up winded and weakened thus an easy target for your opponent. If you're an intelligent fighter you spend time researching your opponent to look for weaknesses that you can capitalize on and try to discover your weaknesses that your opponent can capitalize on, even how you sit down and where you look between rounds can effect how a fight goes.

Pretty crazy how Ian held his own knowing doctor Mike has 10 years of boxing experience.

Casual remember. At most he'd know the basics and that's it really, he wouldn't develop the skills more than that. Just make sure understand the basics to a decent level. But yes that still really impressive ngl

@@damiantheog okay? Why does that matter? So Dr mike should've immediately fallen to the floor to let ian win? It's a charity event bro, stop getting so worked up over nothing buddy

I think you're right - people gotta find a villain. They picked you because you're a tank and you're intimidating in the ring, and they love iDubbz - but ultimately both of you did brilliantly and for a great cause. Well done to both of you and ignore the haters!

It's a boxing match. Yeah, it's an influencer event, but boxing is still a sport. We seen you training so hard for this for so long, so it's expected.

I'll admit i was rutting for ian, but the people calling you a villain are fucked, you and ian both put up an amazing fight especially for first time boxers and i hope you guys continue with it because it was so fun to watch live and rewatch with friends months later

I understand the playful “dr. Mike is the villain.” People are trying to have fun, trying to add drama to the fight, just like Mike and iDubbbz did with the smack talk. But some people took this match way too seriously and actually decided that Mike is a bad person, which sucks. They were trying to have fun, trying to gather money for charity. They are friends, there is no real bad blood between them. Yet people hiding behind their keyboards feel the need to make them enemies.

I understand the adrenaline and the fear in those short moments and split decisions, I’m so surprised you stayed calm, if I get in a fight I would freak out on what to do next. You both did amazing and nobody did nothing bad, evil, or ilegal so I don’t understand why people try to make dramas on a case where drama doesn’t exist.

The best thing about doctor Mike is no matter what we are doing, as soon as we see the notification, we just start watching his video.

respect to Dr. Mike. it's crazy how people act like they know everything. when you get into the ring it's on another level so people disrespecting Mike for throwing that "cheapshot" is crazy

The thing is.... if Dr Mike would have pulled his punches or was the good guy in the fight... he'll get hate for that too. Just try & understand that they both were training for this event, pulling your punches or playing it easy is not possible when you have worked so hard for something.
