Nice one Dave, Funny you've done more australian reptiles videos than most australian herpers. I think most Aussie's take for granted the fact that we have so many amazing reptiles in Australia. Keep them Comming mate 👍

Yeah, On a bushwalk the other day on a quite popular track about 30 mins north of Sydney i saw heaps of water dragons and water skinks, 2 land mullets, a Jacky lizard, a red belly black snake and a large diamond python without really looking.

Your hand placement needs work underhand not so good on long neck species of monitor better to have grabbed him behide the neck. The only bad mistake is the one not learned from. The bite could have been worse . Great video as always though!

Correct! I used to have a professor who said "they put erasers on my pencils as well" and I never forgot that. No matter how learned we are, we can all still make mistakes. I just happen to like making fun of myself when I do :)

Maybe he was holding back how painful it was? If he would go screaming in pain like "AAAAH!!" "OOOOOW!!!" people would be freaked out. Well, hopefully that would scare some people to get big monitors because even in capativity, they can bite. So people need to learn to be careful around monitors. I found them fascinating, but I would never get one. Mostly because I'm out of space but also because I don't want to face a defensive big lizard that can hurt me. Maybe an Ackie monitor would be okay for me. But they have teeth too, fortunately, ackies are small.😅😅

@davkaufmansreptileadventures5 жыл бұрын
Arm is good and I took the bandage off the next morning without any issues. Ever since it was discovered the Komodo dragons are indeed venomous, it would stand to reason that they are not the only monitors that are, but much more work needs to be done to determine who is and who isn't. Lace monitors don't seem to be :)
