I getters my extraction yesterday and felt a lot of pressure. I could only eat something soft. And there also this subconscious though anything that goes in to my mouth it get stuck in the 🕳. All in all my mouth is in pain. But I know it all worth it.

Just had extractions yesterday! Was so nervous I literally had three panic attacks before hand but luckily they consciously sedated me, so I was completely awake and aware but I just felt normal, not super relaxed but not worried at all. Plus the dentist and nurse were so lovely. The sedation injection hurt a tad bit but it hurt less than being scratched by a cat, once they were doing the fillings and extractions I didn’t feel a thing, it took two hours but genuinely felt like five minutes, I didnt even realised he’d done the extractions, I thought he’d just done the fillings. Take advantage of the numbness and eat some yoghurt or something because once you’re not numb you feel so weird and gummy(update, dont, just read my dentists advice and it says avoid food until you have feeling in your mouth again) and it’s normal to bleed for a few hours after, it looks like a lot of blood but most of it’s saliva so it looks worse than it is. I know you’ll still worry but I genuinely have the worst dental anxiety and I was fine, make sure you like your dentist and trust them 💜💜 I’m having two taken at a time a week apart, day two now and havent felt any pain. But of weirdness but no pain

@@manas2184 have braces now and my teeth look really awesome and straight, I wasnt even nervous for my second time getting teeth taken out and fillings. When you go to have your braces put on I’d meal prep a soft meal and take it with you so you can eat it as soon as your braces have been put on because the pain slowly starts after about 10-20 minutes so make sure it’s a big meal that’ll fill you up because eating will hurt by the time you get home. The pain from the braces was quite bad for me but that might be because I’m an adult and adult teeth are harder to move so bare that in mind. Painkillers didnt really help me much in the first twenty four hours and I couldnt sleep the night I got the braces put on because it hurt. It wasnt the type of pain that makes you scream, it was just a dull ache in your whole jaw and in your head. After the first 24 hours though it’s not that bad. The painkillers took any pain away and after having my braces tightened 3-4 times it stopped hurting afterwards so remember that not all brace tightenings are painful. Plus I’m not afraid of the dentist or ortho which is great, I now go to the dentist regularly, clean my teeth after every single meal and my dentist says my teeth look great. The extractions genuinely dont hurt at all, even afterwards. I would just say the worst part is two weeks afterwards of stress because I was so scared of getting food in my extraction sights, I had a week of just drinking lots of juices with added vitamins and pudding, with salt rinses after of course. Then after a week I would eat things like buttered potato waffles, maybe sausages if I felt up to it. Then after two weeks have fun with food until your next extractions. I personally chose to have mine about a month apart so that I could have two weeks of eating whatever I wanted before having to go another two weeks of not eating much again

Girl...I'm the same way with puking I get panic attacks from anything regarding vomit and I'm 34. I am getting 4 teeth extracted in a few weeks. I have my brackets on..waiting to get wire after extractions. I wanted clear brackets but they ended up putting the metal ones on by accident and I didn't feel like going through the process again so they just gave me the price of the metal ones instead and I took it as fate. I did want the clear just because the metal are way more noticeable but they said the clear ones stick out a little more and I am already struggling with the metal ones so f that. Lmao. Thank you so much for this video I have been having anxiety and this helped me. You honestly have such a gorgeous smile without braces I can't wait to see you with them done. So excited for you!!

I hope everything went well! honestly most people have metal and the good thing about it is that you can eat whatever and not have to worry about staining as much! From what I understand, she had a high crowding of her maxillary and mandibular jaws. The teeth that she got removed is to make space for the remaining teeth to align when the braces work their magic. This is extremely common and safe. It looks like for her bite she will need Rubber Bands to pull it. Clear braces (e.g. sapphire) are a great option if you mind the aesthetic of your teeth during the treatment, which takes longer than with metal braces and are more fragile. Metal and clear braces are applied almost the same and even if they are clear the molar braces or “tubes” have to be metallic. The traditional steps for applying them are simple. They put a plastic retractor to separate your lips and inner cheek from the teeth and they’ll make sure your teeth are clean 1. Applying Etching Solution with a micro brush to condition your teeth, 2. Then they apply etching acid (blue color) wait a few seconds and wash away. Then the teeth need to be dried thoroughly, 3. Apply primer with the microbrush and polymerize it with the UV light, 4. They will apply each bracket, position it with a resin and polymerize it with the UV light. By now the ortho may do some stripping on the teeth but that really varies 5. They will find an arch adequate for the teeth (most 10 or 12 caliber first) and loop the small bands (they can be colorful) with a Mathieu Needle Holder . The dentist will probably cut the edge of the arch from the tub with a Distal Cutter. This process may vary from ortho to ortho but it is basically it. Hope you find this informational somehow :)

Most people with "perfect" or nice wide smiles, NEVER had any extraction/retraction treatment, (e.g julia roberts for example), It's beyond messed up that orthodontists even still do it, ... and worse that they don't tell patients of the negative effects of extraction/retraction, or of better alternatives, It has all kinds of negative effects, appearance wise, even health wise, Reducing tongue space, and even Affecting breathing, and cause/exacerbate TMJD/jaw joint issues. It really doesn't "fix" anything, it's cutting corners, causes permanent Damage, leaves various pre-existing issues unaddressed/unresolved, And even causes/exacerbates other issues.

NO STOP THANK YOU😭🤍 okay so they do stain over time but you get them changed every 6 weeks ( that’s what I do ) and then they are nice and white again I was thinking my teeth were getting yellow but it was just the elastics it’s not super bad but you will probably notice especially after they change them cause they look super white after! I don’t think anyone talking to you will notice tho cause it blends in with your teeth! I did eat a lot of tomato soup, ketchup, pasta and it wasn’t terribly bad! HOWEVER if there’s anything I would recommend you to never eat with the ceramic braces is Kraft dinner, I just got my elastics changed and my teeth were very white I was so happy and then a DAY later I ate Kraft dinner for the first time in months it stained them!! it’s not super bad but I could tell right away it was a bug mistake cause when I look close I can see the stain🥺

I actually really like them!! A lot of people can’t even tell I have them unless they look really close!! they do stain over time tho but you get your elastics changed every month so it won’t be stained for long, good luck!

Ah I actually don’t know! I don’t think my teeth have changed in colour with having braces, I always brush morning and night though and you can always brush at lunch too if you feel it’s necessary! With the clear braces for me it’s more about trying not to get them super stained so staying away from things like tumeric! They do stain over time but by then you get them changed!

I actually went to a different ortho than they referred me and it was up to me when I wanted to start the process, because I had to figure out financial stuff at first ( cause I paid mostly myself) it took a bit longer but it all depends on you and your ortho! I think I had three appointments (consultation, impressions & financial) and then I got them on!

Watch Dr Bill Hang's videos on why removing teeth, and closing the gaps via Retraction can be bad, He's an Orthodontist who preaches about the iatrogenic harm being caused by Extraction/Retraction Orthodontics, which he himself stopped doing 30 years ago.

@@manas2184 hey hey, everything is good. Front teeth are going back pretty fast bit it will take some time for the gaps to close completely (i am thinking like 6-8monthts) . I have been wearing braces for 6 months now and i dont notice the gaps at all. I am already pretty used to the whole experience and the pain is very little to nothing. I say go for it,only after you have enough opinions from a couple of orthodontists. Don’t rush it

@@breehamiltonn well if you have any elastic holding your wires then that is conventional braces or if the brackets holds the wire by self lock mechanism then that is Damon system or self ligating braces. hope this helps to find out ;)

I had to eat soft foods for at least a week! And that will go away with time as they are still healing on the inside!! Slowly try to eat normal foods, I had to cut up hot dogs for example to eat it, but definitely eat softer foods till you fill like youre okay to eat normal foods again! I never really had anything poke the holes, maybe just wait to eat chips for a while for example cause those can have sharpe edges! Also swoosh warm water and salt in your mouth after you eat to help the healing!

There was 2 short documentaries from years ago concerning Orthodontics, particularly with Extractions... One was an Episode of "Dispatches", (Starring John Mew of Orthotropics fame, a couple of other British dentists, and featuring American Orthodontist Dr Bill hang) There was some talk concerning faces being adversely affected by Extractions and Braces, One British dentist PULLED OUT 4 OF HIS OWN SON'S TEETH (on the advice of an Orthodontist), but when his son's Braces came-off, he noticed that his son's face didn't look right... He said he'd catch glimpses of son, where his Lips looked as if he was an OLD MAN WITH NO DENTURES IN, (from his lips lacking support due to Extraction/Retraction, and his bottom lip looked dished-in). In the other documentary "60 mins Aus" it showed a better before/after comparison. In the other documentary, an episode of "60 mins Aus", (Also Starring John Mew, a couple of people from other documentary, aswell as Aussie Orthodontist Dr Derek Mahony) An Aussie presenter/journalist, warned the audience about everyone wants straight teeth, but it's costly and there's "the torture" it could mean losing a few teeth, and months trapped in braces.... Orthodontist Dr Derek Mahony, said the previous year he saw 163 people seeking 2nd opinions, (they "needed" 4 teeth out elsewhere) he said him and his colleagues WERE ABLE TO TREAT ALL 163 WITHOUT EXTRACTIONS.... he said unfortunately it's "easy to have a production-line in Orthodontics, where patients come in of around a certain age, get a certain number of teeth out, and then put through the Orthodontic process" He said pulling out teeth is often the "easy option" for Orthodontists, but often not good for patients.... And often Orthodontists would DECEIVE patients into getting unnecessary Extractions, In his experience, he often found Extractions to be unnecessary.... He said he thinks patient's choice is denied by that, and that the end-results aren't as good as they could be, and expressed he was saddened for the Orthodontic profession.... There was also an Aussie mother, who brought her son to several Orthodontists, who all INSISTED he have the "4 on the floor" (when he only had slightly crooked teeth) she managed to find Dr Derek Mahony, and he straightened her son's teeth WITHOUT EXTRACTIONS,

You might wanna read writer/journalist Karin Badt's Article on why Extracting Premolar teeth might not be a good idea.... Also some Orthodontists such as Dr Bill hang are long aware of the negative effects caused by Extractions, and closing gaps, He stopped doing Extraction/Retraction around 30 years ago, and is known critic of it.

ITS NOT AS BAD AS U THINK!!! They freeze you which isn't super comfortable and then you can get laughing gas which low key made me nauseous but i also didn't feel anything!! its sore after but it heals pretty fast!! after two weeks it was healed! you got this!!!

Ik I’m late but ahhh this is like so similar to my case, I have to get 1 tooth pulled out because it is a baby tooth (I already have all my adult teeth) and they took x rays and I have no adult teeth under that one baby tooth soo I have to get it pulled out and get braces to close that gap so technically I’ll always have on tooth less 😅 sorry if it’s confusing

On a British clinic's site, they mentioned a girl they treated Non-Extraction using DAMON braces, in just under a year, She and her mother sought a 2nd opinion, she was initially going to get NHS (Health service) Braces, and was REFUSED NON-EXTRACTION by an NHS Orthocuntist, not only that but the Extraction-plan was estimated to take nearly 2 years....

Wouldn't be so sure of that, if you read writer/journalist Karin Badt's Article on why Extractions for braces are bad, There are testimonials of some former patients, who were recommended Extractions for Braces, their appearance/function/and health were adversely affected. If I recall it's titled: "Extracting Premolar teeth for Orthodontic treatment: the risks" I really wouldn't recommend telling your followers to believe everything an Orthodontist says, this stuff frequently goes wrong. On Dr Bill Hang's videos there are patients who have suffered decades as a result of Extraction/Retraction Orthodontics they had as teens,

On a couple of the Facebook groups I'm on, there's a girl in her late 20s, who initially already had nearly straight teeth, and good occlusion, And she was DECEIVED into getting 4 teeth removed for Braces, she ended up wearing braces for nearly 4 years, And now she has a posterior Open-bite from the molars not meeting properly, and pain in her front teeth, so she's now WORSE than before.... They started to close pretty quickly but didn’t fully closed until July so almost a year later however once I got power chains and elastics they closed much faster! I noticed my teeth got straighter really fast but the gaps always take a little longer and I believe it’s different for everyone!! I started really noticing a difference after 4 months and more and more it closes and eventually is un-noticeable!

U guys are so lucky. Im getting braces on and everyone has said “your honstly gonna look like shit” and i have to pull out like the second front tooth because its a new tooth abow. So everyone will see because we dont have online school so i cant stay home and wait for it too heal and get braces on. Have already cried and i cried at the dentist. If I’ve would have lived in quarantine i would got my braces on last march and gotten them out this year + u guys are wearing masks so that just unfair + braces are quite popular in the us but in sweden its ABSOLUTELY NOT.
