You did it right by going with what worked for you vs what the masses say to do. Plus honing your skills before anything. I did the same with my volcano photography. The only success I was interested in was being able to make a simple living from it once I felt I was ready. The ones I've seen come and go were all about being famous and it was their demise. Great to see you visit the guy in the hospital. As someone who spent my share of time in them stuff like that lifts spirits. I was fortunate to have the hockey legend Gordie Howe visit me twice when I was a kid. I'm old :-) Even though he's no longer alive I had to give a shout-out to him for taking the time to do so as an active popular hockey player back in the day.

Absolutely identify so much with this epic vlog! Listening to your story reminds me how when I got into skateboarding back in '86 '87 and snowboarding in '89. I emulated Natas Kaupas and painted my skateboard like his pro model and just grinded every day by myself learning. My goal was to ollie a trash can like he could and eventually nailed it among so many insane tricks like wallrides and stuff I learned by persistence and consistency. Same with snowboarding I emulated Craig Kelly and Jeff Brushie and once I could afford better than used Sims snowboards got my first Craig Kelly signature model snowboard and just ripped at Burke Mt VT as many days as I could log on the board. Kids today don't realize in an Instagram world how long you need to grind unnoticed before you can really see the fruits of your labor. Proud to be a day one on this channel I discovered by accident and a witness to the absolute dream! Love you guys, all of you from the bottom of my heart! True OGs!
