I normally would separate the rum runners and have them hidden better in between my clothes. This particular cruise. I just had them all in one bag. I was rushing and didn’t hide it deep enough in my suitcase. So I think it was easy to see in the scanner

I got caught for the first time on the Vista a little over a year ago. Received a similar letter in my luggage. Im kind of skeptical on how I got caught after posting in a FB group I was about how to do it and a few people were up in arms about me doing it. I've had two more cruises since (was juat on the Hotizon a week ago) and had no issues and I had 3-5 runners in my suitcase. I just packes them different the last two times.

Yeah, It’s definitely expensive. I just got off a 7 day cruise to Alaska and the price for the drink package was insane!

so ill be going on my first cruise in August on the miracle and I think their alcohol policies are insanely rediculous. You cant even buy a bottle on board to enjoy in your room because they hold on to it until the end of the trip. Ive been looking for ways to be sneaky but im scared theyll kick me and my partner off the trip completely. Since youve done this successfully and unsuccessfully before, what do you suggest?

Yeah if you purchase liquor in port, they make you leave it when you’re getting back onboard (sometimes I’ll buy 2 bottles and only turn in 1 🤫 lol) But honestly, it’s all just random. If you go on Amazon and buy rum runners, you should be able to get them on the ship. Just make sure once you fill it up, you get the air out and wrap it in a pair of pants or other clothing and put it in the middle od your suitcase (so it’s not directly on top or bottom). On the past, I’ve also had small plastic bottles of liquor in my pockets or in my bra as I’m boarding (must be plastic because you will be walking through a metal detector)

They did catch me gem that time. When I say I got lazy, I meant that I put them all in one bag, so it was probably easier to notice. The non-lazy method is having each runner separate from the others and wrapped in articles of clothing. Also putting them in the middle of the suitcase instead of on top or bottom because it goes through a scanner
