Yep. If it's a bottle of white wine, just turn the cork upside down so they can't see the corkscrew hole. With red wine, the wine stain would show on the bottom of the cork. Not to mention, trying to make vodka look like red wine would be a real challenge.

Save a couple corks, buy screwtop wine, empty contents, fill with hard booze, use the heatshrink seal when you're done. You could also take the cork out the normal way and just flip it over

you may end up in a terminal that removes the shrink wrap, which many do to inspect the cork. Corks turned upside down are often stained. Trust me. You don't want to get busted doing this. There are no shortcuts. Don't believe me? Try your method and let us know how far you get.

Actually I took two bottles on my honeymoon cruise we just came off of and my friend took two I did for them so yeah it worked fine. No lights were used to verify what was in the bottles.

I took a bottle with Tito's vodka, captain Morgan's Rum and did a bottle with Johnny Walker Black and Seagram's 7 for my friend. Security barely even looked at the bottles. We had then in plastic grocery bags. They saw they were sealed and kept it moving. Not sure which line you went on but Carnival wasn't thay concerned. All our bottles got on with no problems.

I did this two years ago and it worked! I was able to board the shop with no problems. I realized that you can buy the sleeves AND corks on the link in his description box. Buying corks will allow you to just uncork the original and put in a new one. Just make sure you order the same size cork at the one your disposing. Also, buy a dark wine bottle and you won't have to put in food coloring.

Just use an ah-so to pull the cork and recork. It's a two prong opener that won't damage your cork when done correctly. It also looks fancy. It's used for old and degraded corks with aged wines.

Easiest way to see that your are smuggling hard alcohol is by shaking the bottle and seeing how quickly the bubbles dissipate. The more alcohol the quicker the bubbles go away. So a trained eye who knows what to look for would tell almost immediately since wine leaves bubbles at the top for a much longer time than a high proof grain alcohol. Nonetheless, I’m still impressed.

When I went on a cruise I bought 4 of those huge crest mouth wash bottles that are white (non see through) emptied and washed them out good. I filled two of them with a entire bottle of Ciroc hahahah, one had fireball and the other had Patron. Packed them in our bags that we had to check in. They just thought we brought mouthwash. Then I brought on a box of Merlot. It was a 5 day cruise and we still had alcohol after we docked back in the states.

They can tell it's higher proof by shaking the bottle. Bubbles last a lot longer in higher proof alcohol. Ive been caught a couple of times doing this. And I have wine making equipment. Just depends on who checking and if they care that much.

I’d Like to add my own personal experience as I just went on a Royal Caribbean cruise Dec 2022. My boat left the Port in Bayonne, NJ so a lot of what I will say applies to this port only, security checks may vary at your port of departure. The rules are 1 bottle of wine per 21 older guests, up to 2 bottles per room. I will say (and I am not saying if you are under 21 you should try) your age is not checked until after you’ve gone through security. Security checks and bag checks are not done by the actual cruise line. I believe it is TSA, but I feel like those who work security are outsourced via TSA. As stated towards the end of this video, I had my wine in my carry-on bag and they did not ask to see the bottle, they did not ask if there was anyone else in my group that would be staying in the same room as me over the age of 21. So basically, they didn’t really stay strict with the bottle limit. Looking back I feel like I could have had 2 bottles in my carry on and they wouldn’t have said anything. I would also like to add that, I don’t remember if you are required to carry the wine on you in a carry-on bag. Meaning you may be able to have 2 in your carry-on and another 2 in your checked bag, totaling 4 bottles of wine. I will try this next time I go on a cruise. This also means, if you have another adult in your room, you may be able to have a total of 8 bottles in your room. If this is the case, I would recommend not having all 8 bottles out around the room as they clean your rooms 2/3 times a day. So if you have more than 2 bottles out in the room, you may get into trouble. Some advice with the wine bottle trick. DO NOT OVERFILL THE BOTTLE. The bottle needs a certain amount of air in the bottle so the cork will not rise up out of it. I made this mistake and ended up having to get another bottle of wine. I mistakenly bought a 1-liter bottle of tequila and overfilled my 1st wine bottle and the cork pushed itself up and damaged the seal of the wine bottle. 2nd wine bottle I brought (and thankfully I got 2 of them) the dime got to a point where it wouldn’t go further down in the bottle. So I ended up breaking the top of the wine bottle. Also, remember to bring a wine opener with you, I was lucky enough to be able to get one from room service for free, and they do say you can take them to any bar on the ship and they will open it for you, but I didn’t want to take that risk and the bartender smells it and notice it wasn’t wine. If you want to attempt to have more than 2 bottles per room, I would suggest you stagger your group as you go through security. Again, security didn’t ask if I was alone or if my other roommate would have a bottle with them so I do believe you can get more than one bottle on the ship. But do what you feel comfortable doing. I know next time I will try and get more liquor on. Also, when you get to the person who is checking your ID and tickets to get on they did not ask me if I had wine or asked if my roommate would have any either.

Last February on royal Caribbean we brought our two bottles of wine and were directed to a security table and the agent violently shook the bottles. The wine which has a lower alcohol content did not produce bubbles but the bottles behind the table which contained hard booze did produce bubbles (the procedure is called proofing). Just saying.

I’m a frequent cruiser and I used to do all of these tricks to sneak on booze. Some times no problem, some times it got confiscated. In any case it’s a lot of trouble. The last cruise I took in September they got my Jim Beam. Once on the ship I called the concierge and found out that I could buy a 5th of Jim Beam and have it delivered to my room for $42.00, legally! Ok, it’s jacked up in price but still way cheaper than buying drinks at the bar and definitely easier than trying to sneak it on. Check with your cruise line and find out how much it costs to have a bottle delivered to your room. Much easier and almost worth the up charge to not have to go thru all the BS.

A 750ml of Absolute cost $85 dollars on the cruise I am taking and crown Royal is $95. I have a few bottle of wine folks brought to my house as party gifts. I really don't drink wine so I will order the foils for $1.79 and for an extra $7 some corks. Enough to last me two or three cruises. Easy as pie and minimal hassle.

Yup, it's not like he didn't know about the cruise ahead of time...LOL Just save a couple wine bottles and drink the product, that way you don't have to buy shit wine either you can get good stuff and enjoy it and put the booze in those. Plus if security was really concerned they less likely think a person dumped a $30 bottle down the sink vs a dude bringing in some $5 shit that no one in their right mind would drink.

I am in total agreement. Why not fill up a few bottles of old spice. They wouldn’t look. I think about this every time I settle my bill! You can either have it opened at any of their bars (you risk them smelling the liquor) or you can ask them to send an opener to your room. I was on royal and I asked for one to be sent to my room.
