Thank youu bro :) Is not the RAM slot, the logicboard is damaged somewhere between the board layers, the slot is fine. I can try repair but the chance to fully ruin the board are pretty big

I'm impressed. I'm not very skilled, but regardless, I'm always fascinated when old tech and gadgets can be restored. In a world today where we are dealing with inflation and cost of living is getting more expensive, repurposing and bringing back old tech to life can be very essential, saves money, and being environmentally friendly. Have you ever thought of putting a Linux distro in the MacBook Pro? As for the iPhones, if you don't intend to use them as phones, you may be able to use them for something else. Some examples: - USB storage - Alarm clock - Dash camera (though be warned, when exposed under the sun, the phone will not work because it will overheat. Need to figure out a way to shield it) - Web camera (if the web cam on the laptop has bad quality, or doesn't work) - still and video camera - e-reader - mp3 player/iPod - voice recorder Anyways, great video. Great fixes.

Sir, I am a solid big fan of yours... I started watching your videos 4 years ago I remember the first video I watch is the Hp laptop wrap with red and black carbon vinyl... I was so amazed by the results since then I started following you and watching your videos. i have the same macbook pro andrew and i got an ifit kit as the thermal paste was from 2012. i did break the small clip holding the keyboard backlight, but if that is all that broke and it all runs great still then i can't complain for the first try at it.......plus it was free and in like new condition. like you i used oclp to get the latest ventura on it and works like a champ.

You can make dual boot. There are many guides on KZbin, but before doing something make a full backup

Nice stuff, glad to see these devices all in function again! Shame about the MacBook only being able to use 1 RAM now but at least 8GB sticks are supported on these older machines! Also how did you get Ventura on this system? As I have a couple of 2010s (including a Macbook in white plastic - so not the Pro version) that I want to keep going for as long as I can, and 10.13 already dropped support for Chrome/Firefox etc. Lastly - always use Macs Fan Control on these as they tend to run quite hot. I aim for a maximum 70'C on mine.

There are a couple videos out there installing a plastic card under the RAM slot to fix the issue. It didn’t work on my 2011 model but you should give it a try!
