I think it’s ruder to be obnoxiously loud, but maybe that’s just my opinion. Drunk people often don’t see how disruptive and annoying they appear. Being around loud, drunk people when you’re sober is one of the most annoying scenarios to be stuck in. I feel sympathy for him because he tried to move away from them. He didn’t say anything to them until he became frustrated with the situation. Just because you’re on a booze cruise doesn’t mean everybody else is. He shouldn’t have to hide out in his room like a hermit to have a bit of peace. There’s being a bit loud and then there’s being obnoxious and annoying

I'm not talking about people being loud from time to time, that's life, I'm speaking of those cruises where it appears the entire ship is a party and there is NOWHERE to go (except your room....perhaps) to have LESS noise. If I want quiet, I go to the mountains or maybe a secluded beach. If it gets too loud for you, you just get up and MOVE. No need to create a scene. I'm so sorry, just keep being you!

All of the cruises I've gone on I've gone for relaxation, spending that sweet sweet money at the spa, the occasional excursion, and in between? Peace and quiet. I could always find a quiet spot in the shade to curl up with a book on my cruises. Didn't matter what was going on with everybody else, there's always quiet corner where you can get a drink and watch the sunset, or read a book, or write in your journal, or just take a little time. Guys like that have a chip on their shoulder, and the fact that he came back and sat down right next to you proves it. Protect your peace my friend.

A cruise is a public place where drinking and dancing and conversation and music is all happening at once. There are places in the cruise like your room where you can meditate or chill or pray. Many cruises have a chapel room so go there. However, unless this is a "transcendental meditation cruise" or a "spiritual cruise" you are going to encounter lively behavior so deal with it! You were wise in moving on because clearly the man arguing with you was mental in some ways and seemingly has issues so best getting out of the way of nutcases. Moving away from him was a wise.

Does that man seriously not understand how much of a buzzkill he was being?!?! Last month I, and many of family members took our very first cruise ever on Royal's Allure of the Seas. Massive freaking ship with a ton to do and see, despite its soon pending remodel. We all had an absolute blast! Everyone else on board appeared to be greatly enjoying themselves too. Not once did I ever feel I was stuck to deal with a particularly obnoxious group. In fact, there were even some rowdy kids on board, but I'd see them once and pretty much never again. There was never a shortage of opportunity to go find my peace when I needed it. I can't even imagine justifying that man's actions. Whenever I saw people having a good time, I admired it and sometimes fed off of their energy and shared a laugh or a moment with them. We are all on vacation making the best of our time, lighten the hell up! If you want to relax outside of your room, walk the ship till you find a quiet enough place and set up camp! Or wait till nighttime where the opportunity is plentiful!
