Hope everyone is doing peachy keen ~~ I'm doing great. Thanks for asking. My classes are killing me, but suffering is normal, right? Anyway, almost as part two of my core classes video, this video will go over more UChicago tips I thought up. If you are an incoming freshman/first-year, I imagine that you'll find what I have to say very useful.
If you are looking for even more tips and tricks, I highly suggest you go check out my first video on this subject:
• Tips for First-Years (...
Alternatively, if you'd like to learn more about how the Core works at UChicago, check out my most recent video:
• Navigating UChicago's ...
Lastly, as promised, here are some suggested questions I would consider when researching dorms:
1. Is there a dining hall nearby?
2. Are there any dorm/house specific traditions that you can find?
3. Are most people in singles, doubles, or triples?
4. How close is it to campus?
5. Are there gender-specific bathrooms or are they co-ed?
6. Is there bike and summer storage?
7. Are there study and music rooms?
8. Is the dorm new or old (does it have central heating or a radiator system?)
9. What is the history of the dorm? What is it known for?
10. How close is your building to public transport if you wanted to go downtown, for example?
Disclaimer: I’m obviously not being paid by The College for this video. This video is just a collection of my personal opinions.
