you should never change the date around midnight... Besides that: Great Video and great Watch. I think many people start their collections with the SKX. My 007 still gets a lot of wrist time and I even like the original bracelet. After a while I even bought the 009... :-) Greetings from Germany.

You can also replace the cristal for a saphirre. Long Island watches does the replacement of the cristal including water tight tests.

I have the SKX007K & SKX009K in my collection. Swapped out the jubilee bracelet on the SKX007K with a Strapcode Oyster & the rubber strap on the SKX009K with a Strapcode jubilee bracelet. Love these pieces. Reasonably priced if you know where to look. IMO, no collection is a collection without one in it. Loved the video. All the best to you!

I have a J1 model. The chapter rink is misaligned and very noticeable. I know this is common on Seikoes, and the “made in Japan” models have it too.

Man they were a bargain. Unfortunately I missed the skx era and bought a skx007j a week ago from 2015 with an excellent new condition for 320 dollars. Im really loving it and looking for keeping it for many years. however the accuracy is about +180sec/day so not really accurate but nonetheless its an awesome time piece

I bought a sukx009 last month after listening to all the hype. It lasted less than a week. Imo, it is far inferior to pre 1988 vintage Seiko divers. All Seiko divers after 1988 are cost cutting watches. So unfortunately I couldn't bond with it.

I already got seiko sea urchin before i bought this watch to see whats the hype......skx007 is beautiful but its not comfortable on my wrist..its thick and heavy compared to the seiko sea urchin...its tru the build quality is better than the sea urchin and its way more comfortable on the wrist i can wear it all day.....anyway if ur a diver and collector buy this watch its a tool watch.....but for me the sea urchin is the best diver style watch.....

You know I just went to Macy’s department store and looked in there watch section. I couldn’t believe it, they’ve got this watch and a whole bunch of other high end Seiko divers! The prices were great!!!! I saw this one with the rubber strap. I don’t see big selections of Seikos like this very often.

I have similar wrist size maybe a tiny tad under 6.5 inches if i hold the inch tape very tightly. What do you think regarding size between skx007 and skx013 for size on that wrist impersonally think this looks fine on you, nice to have some presence on a diver.

Yeah I feel this watch fits just fine, however recently my wrist is like 6.6 inches - dont know why? lol - the 013 would fit fine also - personal preference...i wear a 36MM rolex also and it fits great

I bought a SKX007 recently for a really good price. For me, it was rather underwhelming since I already own a Seiko Samurai, Sumo, Tuna, 62mas, Shogun, and MM200 along with Hamilton’s and some microbrands.. I’ll either sell it or mod it with a better bracelet, movt, bezel, and dial. Perhaps I’d feel different if I bought it ahead of my other watches.

I actually bought the skx as my first seiko then got the turtle and a couple other Seiko 5s, as you stated - its hard to compare to the sump or shogun 62mas and other great seikos

If it was assembled in Japan it will have 21 Jewels under the Divers 200m. Yours was probably assembled in Malaysia.

its not a good watch , its a fun watch. The movement sucks, the bracelet sucks. The besel will be misaligned. But they are fun to wear and beat around in. I have owned five new skxes over the past five years and sold them all. Cheers.

It doesn’t mean it’s ok though... i ve been ignorant to this myself until I really got into the hobby. The facts are there..you can damage the mechanical parts engaging the date wheel if this is done ...

Yours isn’t made in Japan. The Made in Japan SKXs have “21 Jewels” under “Divers 200m” plus a “Made in Japan” at the bottom of the dial. I mean, come on! Do some basic research before creating a video and publicly misleading your viewers. I do not even own a SKX and I am aware of these details, there is no excuse for you.

some Japanese want with jubilee bracelet and it is not available in Japan so they have to import from other countries. that is the reason why there are "K" being sold in Japan but with Japanese characters on the warranty card and manual not like the one sold in u. s. and other countries. (just watch this video aug. 2021)

Yep for $200 you could get 1/40th of a Rolex Submariner (ie not an ISO 6245 approved diver)
