I bought Takomo 101's heads only, took my 7 iron to my local club fitter. He put a fitting sleeve in it and dialed me in. I have been playing custom Takomo irons all spring and summer.

@@JamesRobinsonGolf I agree but it was the best I could do. We went project x LZ stiff in the 6-pw and regular in the 4 and 5 iron. Best year of golf I have had...high 70's to low 80's all year. These irons are legit!!!

I’ve been fit for my irons on several occasions; watched multiple fittings on KZbin including the good lads at Club Champion in Canada and your pal Gary Martin. Never have I’ve seen or heard of keeping a shaft model but changing shaft weights within an iron set; it makes a lot of sense and is such a simple idea. As an aging senior golfer I think it’s a very applicable approach and may help keep some head covers out of my bag for a bit longer😂. Thank you James!

Ive just been fit at SGGT by jordan off the back of these videos and i can not wait to get them in the bag. Didnt know that the takomos were availible for fitting though as id of loved to try them. Ended up in the T150 with adilia NV 75S shafts. Shows what a quality fitting gives you.

I was down at SGGT for a fitting Friday and the facility and how in depth they go is so good and I've ended coming out with the split set with my shafts which I wouldn't have got with a fitting anywhere else.

Wesley Bryan's are definitely fitted. I've really enjoyed my 201s and am thinking about another set of 101 or 101T as a combo set. Great sticks... especially for the money!

Hi hope all is well Question for you i am looking for a more forgiving club that my stealth irons i hit them good but is am slowing down in swing speed will be 60 next March so i wanna get some irons that will age with me I have narrowed it down to 2 sets Takomo 101's and Eleven's hybrid irons i know its apples to oranges but which did you find easier to hit and more forgiving ? 3-pw in the Eleven's is 1225 ( Canadian ) 4-pw in the Takomo's 101 are 850 ( Canadian ) i got my handicap down to 6.5 but i wanna make golf as easy as possible what are your thoughts ? both are straight to consumer so i can not try them thx i look forward to your thoughts cheers from Canada

Great idea, but what does custom fitting do to the price? I have TM P770 2024 version, and paid £950 last month 5-PW, which was a great price, they are in steel shafts, as these were what i was fitted into, ive been using graphite shafts for the last few years. I doubt the Tacomos would be much cheaper fitted, so DTC isn’t always as cheap as it appears.

Always enjoy this content with SGGT, however £650 irons and then what £800-1000 in shafts Im sure some of the big brands would offer the shafts as an upcharge less than full price of new shafts so all in It would probably not be too far off on price and be easier to just get a fitting at SGGT and go with the iron/shaft that came out on top.

I play the la golf shaft 4-lw of course the wedges have the wedge shafts they are really good. Plays like a steel with feel of graphite and extremely consistent

I am so not a fan of different colored irons such as black etc. the exception to this rule are the bronze irons. They look great and think leave a great site line over the ball.

If you have to retro fit new shafts which adds $800-$1,200+ to the initial cost just for the new shafts. Then you’re spending more for these clubs than the big brands ? Add the cost of a fitting session then the labor to re-shaft, that’s getting expensive?

@ True! But good shafts are not cheap, I think you come out pretty even. I bought a set of MacGregor heads recently and shafted them with KBS graphite. I did the work even then it was not cheap? This was a good video and proves that a fitting is the best way for everyone. Thank you James for the reply, I appreciate it!

@@JamesRobinsonGolf not necessarily it depends on whether in the fitting a major brands stock portfolio of shafts work for you. Takomo have a limited shaft rage, so you will often need to upgrade. A good fitter, such as you are demonstrating today, will show all the options, then it’s down to your feel and pocket.

I was fitted with Srixon ZX4s by SGGT. They are superb for me. The fitting charge (£0) was included in my purchase price and Laurence even gave me extra time so I had small rest breaks. (I’m recovering from major heart surgery). Personally wouldn’t go anywhere else. I took my wife for a full bag fitting. Yes it costs but better to get it right first time than to be unhappy and get fitted again elsewhere. (Her handicap has shed 4-5 shots since).

Hard to believe that mfrs don’t correct loft and lie before they ship to customers . The high $$ mfrs are even worse, in my experience. For what they charge , out of spec clubs is inexcusable, IMO….
