65 miles at 16mph with substantial climbs is a mighty good ride, but... if you haven't tried it and are ever inclined to take on another 3.5miles and 400ft of ascent, I suggest a side loop into Simi horse country that offers a different vibe (as the local street names suggest) and a unexpected view of the Valley. From southbound First Avenue take a left at Mellow Lane, a left at Rambling Road, onto and cresting on Rocking Horse Drive, left on Meander Drive, left on Rambling, left at Nonchalant Drive, left back onto First and the Long Canyon climb.

Yes. The trails have been in water this year, but older videos have lots of gravel and cyclocross.
