I've seen bluegill befriend predators in little ponds like these to the point they get fat and BIG. The gar are well fed on pretty much just shad, so he might be ignored as a food source like Charlie is.

I just find it so heartwarming that he takes some of his time to feed and help them grow up in captivity to become adults and and possibly breeding efforts to save alligator gar and make sure they don't go extinct and they will swim in the waters on the earth for many many million years to come. And i mean, just having a few adult gar in captivity for breeding, ( hopefully there are are a few males and females and he does want them to breed,) can just sooo much for a species and with gator gar out in the wild, they have been hunted since the 50's i think , because they looked so dangerous, so then people started a mass massacre on gator gar bringing their population down by a landslide. So just please, do not release the adults into the wild, only release the baby ones into the shad pond when they're big enough to eat some shads, like 10 inches. Do this preserve this amazing fish.

Ignorant bow fishermen are the worst. I've seen a single one leave half a dozen dead and wounded gar near the greenway in Murfreesboro. He was there less than an hour.

I have a Green Sunfish I've rescued from a drying ditch that I've been raising for over a year now! Her name is Princess and she's just as wild as where she came from. I think you should be hopeful that your ponds fill up quickly... The way these gar are growing, they will outgrow this tank before March... One curiosity question about the new ponds is cover for the fish. Plants, and other structures for them to play around in... Probably could be one separate video just by itself...
