Have you ever gotten your RV Stuck before?? What did you think of Mike's reaction when I told him what happened? Leave it below and be sure to give this video a thumbs up!👍🏻
@stephenpaller77472 жыл бұрын
Yes, we got our camper stuck in our backyard. Spring in Ohio, ground was softer than we thought and first the trailer got stuck and then the tow vehicle dug into the ground and got stuck as well. We have a lot of camping friends we've all had minor screw ups. Actually, I don't know anyone that hasn't made a mistake or two with their RV's so don't feel bad. It happens to all of us.

As a female who has towed exclusively for 4 years. Let me say you did fine and stuff happens. One piece of advice, always walk your site before pulling in it. Just to get a feel for the grade/levelness and look for stuff that might poke a tire. In snow you can find the edge of the site and scuff your shoe along each edge. That way when you look in your mirrors you have a guide to use backing in.

@@WanderingWagners I am glad that the maintenance guy helped you! When we managed a corporate-own RV Park in central Florida, I wasn't allowed to help a guest in any way shape, or form, just was allowed to tell them to hire a wrecker due to the owner's extreme liability paranoia. If it happened once, it happened a thousand times. Someone would attend the Tampa RV Supershow to afterward trading in their little Class B or C and then without telling us try to park a new 40 foot Class A into their 30-foot long back-in "Value" Basic site upon which their rear tires would go off the parking pad gravel which buried them right down to the frame level in the soft sand. For a thousand times it was then MY FAULT that Florida has sand, MY FAULT that a "Value" Basic site was not an Elite or Deluxe site 60 feet long with all concrete, all the while long knowing that they reserved the Basic "Value" site to save $2 per day on their site. Then when you tell them they will have to pay for the broken cable TV hardline, broken water line, and wrecked power electric pedestal .... both members of the couple usually went ballistic on us. $600 to later after the big semi-wrecker pulled them out and they were parked in a replacement Deluxe all concrete pad, they apologize to us after their 3rd beer while I have 5 yards of gravel brought in to work around my maintenance crew as I replace the electric pedestal and get everyone's cable & water going again, lol. Now you wonder why I work for a concessionaire in the USFS in the mountains where there is no utility power and only us Camp Hosts having our own solar, water spigot, and sewer septic, LOL.

Hey, no harm done! That is what I said to myself when I locked myself out of the motorhome I was delivering from Elkhart, Indiana to British Columbia while parked at the Flying J in Beach, ND in 2008. I was so relieved when the Sheriff's deputy arrived after a 2-hour wait from his duties at an accident scene up north. I was back into the motorhome in 5 minutes after I signed the release forms saying it wasn't his fault if he broke the door/window of the motorhome, LOL. The next time I checked for keys in my pocket, I checked for both sets of keys, not just any keys before slamming the motorhome door shut at the gas pump. Fortunately, I was on the automobile side pumps and not the semi side during that trip!!! Keep up the good job, we all learn from each other so we can make our own mistakes!

You did perfectly fine. Horse areas are no bueno in the best of conditions. At least no flys to contend with in that weather. Enjoy!

You did great. You are just like everyone else, you do something embarrassing you get down on yourself. I know I’ve been there too many times over my 60 years. But, you handle it great. You didn’t curl up and cry and wait for Mikey, you handle it like a champ and got help as soon as you could and got it out. Good job! And I was glad to see you drive it home. Good decision making.
@WanderingWagners2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, i was happy to figure it out without Mike's help and I wanted to show Mike on the drive home that I could do it (though he's never doubted me haha)

@@WanderingWagners This would have been me too if I was backing up. Now if it was a trailer or 5th behind me, I couldn't do that. I did for the first time back up our truck and hooked our trailer up All by myself before we headed out for a weekend getaway. It took me several times but I did it!!

I got a good chuckle, but as a straight truck driver, these things happen and I personally wouldn't worry about it. especially with everything being snow covered. I personally wouldn't sweat it too much.

You did just fine Lynn for your first time out by yourself. At least you didn't hit a tree backing in like I did by myself. Just another reason to look things over before backing iin by yourself. Good luck next time.

Lynn, way too hard on yourself! Only things damaged are your pride and a little topsoil! I applaud you for DIYing it! You had the courage to take it on, and like everything, you get better with practice! If only my wife was not intimated by the crew cab, long bed dually and the Solitude...

No harm - no foul! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, start all over again. I was amazed that the truck had enough weight / mass to pull your rig out. Laura says she is proud of you for trying and figuring out the solution after the mistake happened. You made a good decision to stop before you got in too deep. We saw a video of someone that had class A with tag axle and got it stuck so bad that they needed a bulldozer to move it. THX Mike for being understanding.
