I don’t understand why people buy high end gear online. There is no safe way to do it. Things were so much better when we had mom and pop stores in our communities.

I’ve bought and sold stuff online. One time I sold an open box Sequential Take 5 (which is great btw) to someone in Hawaii. Shipping was a hundred bucks non-express. It took 3 1/2 weeks and I got credited 10 days after that

There's no 'deals' in vintage gear. Simple as. They're trying to gouge your eyes out if anything. I've been scammed twice on Reverb, but it's generally easy to dispute it with them. But they're still on there like rats. So I drove 5hrs to get my Juno-60, best way sadly.
@henrikpetersson346349 минут бұрын
There are deals, but it's usually when the seller has no idea of what he och she is selling.
@vaiman777723 минут бұрын
@ Very rare on vintage though, especially Reverb as it tells you. I always ask them to test, move a specific slider etc in a video. Otherwise it’s generally scam. They use previous videos where they scammed real sellers, so it looks genuine. As with postage pics.

So sorry you got scammed. There are some really sad people out there. They will now have to carry the burden that everyone else considers them a loser.

losers, racists, transphobes, scammers, etc dont care about how society treats them. if they are willing to exploit another human being, they have rejected humanities offerings of forgiveness. do not sympathize with evil.

I brought all my gear way back in the 2000's including the Juno 60 and I stopped using certain websites as more and more scammers joined. But if I wanted to buy today after the first Email it has to be voice to voice over the phone. And with today's technology it must be face time or a live chat to see the product. Sorry this happened to you thanks for sharing.

I was badly scammed once. That wasn't even on Internet but in London. The scammer was a real gentleman and I had some loose money at Soho so I don't even think it as a bad act. With musical instruments you always have to weight the pros and cons. I bought an MPC 3000 LE from a really shady guy and I literally had to replace all the tactile switches and the pads and I only got around 300€ back from the seller but I didn't want to cancel the deal. My best purchase moneywise probably a Reverb deal from Poland, I got Chandler Curve Bender for a real good price but the seller was really shady and immediately when I received it I noticed one of the bypass switches was blinking. But I got a new led light from Chandler's excellent customer service and the problem was solved. I also do have a Juno 60, now in need of power supply recapping, but we "good guys" will keep them alive!

WOW. People do suck,,,one of the reasons I have so much extra "good but not needed" gear in the corners of my studio is that the idea of dealing with people and having normal good experiences trying to find a real buyer and a smooth process just doesn't seem realistic. Bummed you had to go thru this, get the bad result, and have to learn the hard way. Will share this video so others can give pause and have the "list" handy of red alarms. Thanks for FULL TIME MUSIC CREATOR course too, Matnetik!!! it is fantastic in so many ways.

Bruddamonnnn! Yeah, was definitely a big bummer - to be honest most of it was just me entertaining the situation knowing I'd get my money back but that venmo trick was unknown, reported it to venmo as well! There are good people out there, I pretty much stick to reverb or in-person craiglist/marketplace only now after this experience! Thanks as always for watching and engaging, means a lot!
@SenorTropiCat11 сағат бұрын
I always use Reverb, or if it’s a local ad, pick it up personally. You can ask smaller items like pedals by post, but thousands of dollars only through safe channels.

A million and one ways to get scammed... choose one! I see more questionable ads on Google search than legit these days too. Even linking suggested products to a very good fake reverb site etc and when you search the product and seller on the actual reverb, neither exists. So sorry it happened to you and ty for sharing. Seems like just yesterday you were hanging lights on the roof, and here we are again. Happy holiday wishes to you! 🎄

It's truly insane how often this happens to people, and I am SUPER strict when it comes to sending money so made sure to follow every safe step I could - I hope Venmo fixes that issue because it's such an easy way for people to get tricked when trying to be safe and protected - Thanks for watching and commenting, crazy it's been that long since last year! Haha, miss those vlogs! Hope you are well and happy holidays brudda!

That totally sucks! And good to be aware of. But sometimes it is possible that a deal that seems too good to be true, is, actually, true. I got a very good deal on a 2nd hand PolyBrute recently. Now I was meeting the guy and paying cash, but he did use a lot of those tactics described in the video, but that was more to rush me into decision rather than to scam me. And the PolyBrute itself, immaculate, still with the screen protector stickers and I don't think he ever even played it. And I have it right here in front of me 2 months later still working and sounding amazing. Maybe I was lucky, and maybe paying in cash gives confidence, but my point is don't dismiss a good deal, at least look into it because you never know.

as i have a juno 60, a TR808, and a original TB303 wich i have'nt used for years and stocked in the attic, WHY would you purchase obsolete hardware when you can use vsti plugins that sound exactly like the real deal one of these days i will have to put them on the landfill because i think after that many years in the attic they wont work anymore, its a shame, but they take up too much space, certainly the juno, anyway, always be careful from who you buy, thats a given, cheers
@danielbuoncristiano692449 минут бұрын
Simply analog is better than digital, too many things that digital has to emulate to get a discrete analog emulation, it doesn't sound as full as analog gear

Did you really fall for this? Sorry if you did, but shame on you if not for “tricking” us 😂. I only use PayPal. Also, unless I can see the item in person forget it. I may even pretend that I am going to view initially to see if they are up for it. If not it’s obviously a scam. If they won’t let you view for whatever reason WALK AWAY!

Hang on, from what I gathered you haven’t payed him the full amount for either of the goods right? Are you sure he’s not just paranoid that you are trying to get him on a cheaper price? I’m not taking sides here, don’t get me wrong. I’m just confused cos I thought that $1000 isn’t enough for one of the products based on the deal arranged
@matnetik11 сағат бұрын
Fair point! I guess $2250 was the total and they wanted $1200 for the Juno so $50 short on the RE-201 if they sent just that but…they mentioned multiple times they’d ship with only a deposit with as little as half - also it’s been a week with no reply and no refund :( I want to think the best in people TRUST that and I suppose there is still hope but it’s pretty unlikely at this point, big time appreciate you watching and being a part of the community here!

Occam's razor tells me it's definitely a scam. Why? - The manipulation: A legit seller wouldn't try to manipulate you and push you by telling that his friend is moments away from stealing the deal. - Video and pictures are clearly of two completely different units: A legit seller would have video and pictures of the same unit. - Payment with protections: A legit seller wouldn't have any problems using PayPal or any other service with proper protection. Period.

No sympathy for you. Passively, you were pulling a scam of your own. You were preying on someone who didn’t know what this was worth, and rather than tell them, you tried to snatch it up. You even tried to sucker for more. No, you were not actively scamming, but you knew perfectly well that this wasn’t going to be a deal on the level from the onset. This is just karma and you got what was coming to you. Sorry if you can’t handle this, but a spade is a spade.
