Checked out the kimafun website, they claim it lasts up to nine hours on a single charge. Also it appears to be in the high cost range for this item. Would like to compare this to a lower cost device to see if its worth it. On a more fruity note... Sometimes a twisted neck just won't return to straightened and might need to be replaced, glad to see the truss rod works. Hope it becomes playable as I am looking forward to the review. US

"Current event" has got me locked inside my 750 square feet apartment, exposed the frailty of my employer and will prevent me from seeing my family, friends and boyfriend for the next month (best case scenario). And I am one of the lucky ones. Content creators should not be demonetized for making us feel less lonely, and encouraging every KZbinr to ignore what's going on is irresponsible at best. So yeah, as usual, fuck off KZbin.

Austin, quick Pro tip for truss rod adjustments (I learned this from Dan Erlewine): When the neck is bowed like that SG, reduce the string tension before the truss rod adjustment. That way, the truss rod is properly adjusting for the tension of the wood in the neck and not fighting the additional string tension *during* the the adjustment. This will reduce the chance of stripping the truss rod threads AND reduce the possibility of rounding off the truss rod hex. I write this from experience with a bowed-neck P-bass copy which now needs a neck replacement.

I always adjust the neck BEFORE lowering any bridge. It's the first step in action adjustment. If the bridge is lowered first, a neck adjustment can then cause the strings to be TOO LOW.

How old are you? Save up birthday money, holiday money, etc., get a job, there are plenty of ways to make cash even as a kid. Are you a beginner? You realize that buying a Gibson/Taylor won’t actually make you play any better, right? That’s like buying a Lamborghini only for you to drive it around at 30MPH all the time. Practice, practice, practice, and save up, and eventually you will have earned it. It will give you a feeling of accomplishment like no other when you finally achieve your goal. Just don’t go and beg for somebody to give you something for free that you haven’t earned and don’t even need in a KZbin comments section. If you really want it, and you work for it, eventually it will seem a lot more attainable. But for now, don’t worry about the brand of your guitar. Focus on playing, and worry about all that later.

@@ZaneDalton I’ve been playing for five years and I can’t get a job as I’m 14. I don’t get payed to do any chores and it’s hard to find any job opportunities. I had a rouge acoustic guitar but it recently has been totaled. I have a squier strat and it was in poor condition when I got it. I just know that Taylor’s and Gibson’s are quality guitars and they have many advantages such as playability, no holes, sound, and they are quality instruments that will last me longer than my last instruments. I have kept very good care of my guitars and am doing all I can to keep the condition playable. I used to get splinters playing my acoustic. The frets were all messed up and it was hard to play. I knew that nobody is gonna just give me a guitar but it doesn’t hurt to try. Thank you for your comment though. I apologize for the way I came across.

Hey Austin, I am by no means an expert but, I am pretty sure you are not EVER supposed to make any adjustments to the neck of a guitar that has just been shipped to you or that has come in from relatively extreme to the room temperatures, such as it was cold out side but nice and toasty inside or the opposite. Since that truss rod appears to have never been touched, was the neck bowed like that due to the weather conditions during shipping? Like I said, I am no expert but I am pretty sure what you just did was something NOT recommended! Now, maybe the SG had been in your office for a few days? Then that's different and what you did is not a problem, but if it did just come in, naughty naughty naughty lol.

Austin, cardboard is relatively safe from current events (smooth surfaces like keyboards and countertops are more accommodating homes to it). To be extra sure don't touch cardboard with bare hands for a day or so after delivery, but even that's a stretch. That said, I want that wireless set! US

in Line 6 Spider V amps there's a receiver built inside and you can charge your guitar transmitter by sticking it into the input on the front of the anp

The SG Melody Makers are my favourites. The 2011 release were so close. The 2014 Les Paul Melody Maker had something else going on in it's own right too.

Besides the banana neck, that SG is so lovely! IMO, it's a better looking guitar than the traditional SG. I also just LOVE that it has crome h/w, cuz I despise gold h/w.

Ive never understood why comapies makes such goofy looking wireless sytems. Just make a simple black squared box to stap on to your strap. And a standard patch cable going between it and your guitar.

Great vid. Scared me with that bowed neck, glad it was just a truss rod fix. I really love that carved top SG, pretty sweet. Also, I am with you on the Sweetwater candy. I never eat the mints or the Fireballs either! US

I like the design on the wireless system, could definitely use one of those. Thank you for featuring it. Considering it's only $129 plus shipping, that's an incredibly affordable wireless system as well. U.S.

That 2003 Les Paul is pretty! I'm still not going to be sold on ANY weight relief in my Les Paul's... I LOVE my weighty '76 Standard! Also love all the Melody Maker stuff... They need to make a double cut Red 2 chrome humbuckers ala Pat Travers/ Putting It Straight! Send me a wireless! US

Been wanting to try a wireless cable. Been taking lessons forever little over a year as one of my hobbies and it would be great if I can walk around my house while practicing and not worry about a cable getting caught on something. Been a subscriber of your show for almost as long as I’ve been learning to play. Thanks for such a terrific show!

I use the Xvive wireless system ALL the time when I am playing my guitar. My music room is kind of small and I was tired of rolling over my 18 foot cable whenever I moved my chair lol. I don't think I have ever heard of this brand but maybe i have and just don't remember it, a common thing when you are in your mid 50's. forgetting a lot of stuff! Lol.. anyway, hope I win!! US

@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 lol I know right? No the reason I initially got one is I just wanted to see how they would work plus like I said, I got tired of rolling over the cables. I HAVE to play sitting down, I broke my back in 2017 at work so now I'm forced to do a lot of sitting. So when I would go to mess with the amp setting or open another track to play along with or if I was recording , I was always having to get the cable out from under the chair and with my back I can't be doing a lot of bending over. So I bought the wireless and just loved it! Man it's so freeing!! But then the battery would die and I can plug it in and charge it while still playing, now I was back to being tied to wires lol. So I bought a second pair and now I can play for as long as I want to or however long my back will let play lol.

Another great vid. the current pandemic is kinda crazy right now. Being someone with a bad immune system I have been using my time to actually learn to play guitar as I have sat and watched my 2004 squier strat collect dust all these years. is there a way to attach the wireless system to a strap so it is not hanging off the guitar? maybe with a patch cable or extension? Here is the US you required:)

I’d love to know where to find one of those “Speakups” onboard amps with a speaker in a humbucker case. That would be handy for sitting alone playing in motels or similar places.
