I cannot get over how great a tour guide you are. Without you, a lot of people would never think that history could be so amazing. Thank you for such an epic vlog. We love it when you take your precious Ally to these beautiful places. Thanks to your friend as well, for making this possible.

Oh my, we were watching the riots on our news(in UK) over the weekend and saying how sad it was for tourists who happened to choose this weekend for their visit. It looked quite scary plus they said everything, shops, tourist attractions were closed and everyone told to stay indoors(including tourists) Not good . I am glad you managed to get out and about the day after though. What an amazing castle. I didn't know it was there, so it was great to see it, thank you.

Oh wow! I love Paris. I went once while in college. It's a beautiful place all around the city. So glad you had the opportunity to go. Leave it to you to find the castle playground. Surprised that Alli loved the snails. I don't think I would ever want to try them. Thanks for sharing your trip. I hope you have fun and a safe trip home.

So nice to hear a happy voice (Justin's) giving coverage of a news event! 😁 The Paris protests are against the increased gas taxation their government has put into effect, and the general discontent of President Macron (as I understand it). The yellow vests are what drivers are required to keep in their cars, by law, in case they get stuck on the road and have to walk; increases safety, I guess! (I listen to Britain's LBC online radio a lot. lol)

If you ever get to Scotland the castles and ancient houses are really interesting. A lot of them have hidden rooms, stairs, and exits that were used by the Catholic clergy during Jacobite risings.

Amazing. I got tear gassed too when I was in Paris way back in the 1980s...student civil riot back then. Horrible stuff. All the Museum's were closed...and that was particularly unfortunate seeing how I was an art major in college. So glad you're both ok.

@JustinScarred: If it's the Chateau De Blois you're in, another historical fact about it is that it is also the fairytale castle to the real-life _Beauty & the Beast_ (or _Bella et y Bete_ per its actual French title), Petrus Gonzalvus (or Pedro Gonzales in Latin) - a afflicted with hypertrichosis/Ambras Syndrome, mistaken as a "wild man" & adopted into nobility by the royal court of King Henry II - and his lovely betrothed, Catherine Raffelin (a picture of the couple is in the Ambras Castle in the Austrian Alps, alongside various other curious oddities).

I wonder if the tower served a defensive purpose. The spiral staircase runs around to the left. This means that attackers, of whom the most carried their sword in their right hand, had it easier to slash with it than the defenders who had the short wall of on their right side. But once again a very nice movie. Thanks for the headsup and keep up the good work.
@Riceball016 жыл бұрын
As bad as the wiffs of tear gas might have been it's nothing compared to being in a small room full of the stuff. The important thing to remember is to not rub your face/eyes because tear gas is kind of grainy, rubbing only makes it worse.
