I got the best Quilboar on just turn 5! | Hearthstone Battlegrounds

Pokey Thornmantle is the strongest Quilboar card which scales Blood Gems at the end of each turn. This is a great card only if you get early enough (like in this game, on just turn 5). To make things better, I was playing as Jandice Barov, so I was able to do a few nice tricks at the end to double the stats of my minions.

You’re 100% on the money about people over and underrating tribes. I was in a lobby with murlocs, dragons and quillboars but ended up winning with Beasts thanks to great triples. Sometimes forcing it is good but if you get handed a lot of tools for a “lesser” tribe just go for it

Interested to see the tribe tier list for the new patch :o I’m curious what Jeef thinks beats Quilboar late game tho, only tribe off the top of my head is maybe full highroll tavern buff Elementals? Or murlocs with a lot of scam maybe

Quills feel like they are only viable if you have the EOT buff. But if you have the guy, they are free first, since there are way too many gem generators to win off of it.

6:00 my wins so far this patch have been quillboars twice, kaly dragons, and rock rock elementals (only played like 5 or 6 games). Quills definitely seem like the best thing to be doing especially since each of those and the kaly game was an actual first but in the rock rock game I kind of sold and only managed third (lost to two 400/400 choral mrglrs but I think I outscale with better apm). Either way quillboars definitely best but it seems to me like everything just has a little more time to get going. Quillboars only seem so good, even, because you get that extra time. Both wins I didnt even find poky right away I was able to stabilize with a chargla/smugglers and then found poky + enchanter to scale pretty quickly. Edit: also smuggler on 4 but half as good is worse for scaling but you find it way more easily and more often now. My second quillboar win I found gold smuggler + deathscale way too early and was able to golden the deathscale as well later. Even with no brann just that is like having a golden chargle + enchanter. You go less galactic than with old smuggler + murkeye + enchanter but it really doesnt matter since you dont need to go as galactic Also you gotta consider that Quills seem better to your average chatter because it's not an apm build. Like in my case the kaly dragons definitely required a lot of apm but the only other strong apm build I got I fumbled pretty hard (if you saw my setup you would facepalm so hard that it was only a third. Absolutely a first with jeef apm). Apm builds are just harder to play

Random question on t1 why sell to buy a coin instead of just keeping the minion on board worse case you could hero power it or sell it for 1 gold and there's a chance it prevents damage

Quils are the only tribe in game if they are available, and this is such a sad story. All the other tribes took a backseat to the now mega OP tribe.

I am so confused. The sunbakon is basically a coin that can tie against some 1drops, why sell it? Is it the +1/2 on the tavern spell 5drop?

because he looked at snake eyes hp and the fact that he leveled, and realized he had no units, so it wouldn't make a difference, and coin is marginally better (more like it feels better to have it) in this case also it ties with a grand total of 1 unit, which is razorfen geomancer (another tier 1 quillboar)

In theory, for that first turn isn't it better to keep the boar to have something on the board and you can still sell anytime for the 1 gold? I know the difference is minute, so not a criticism just genuinely wondering for min/max science purposes

I don't agree, other tribes are worse early and worse late and need to hit multiple units while Quills are just broken stat wise from early to late while being easy to play and usually at worst it's a 4th place, if everyone is forcing them there is a reason.
