I think the way charge bars actually work is that the more tears you have, the smaller their maximum value (the point where you are allowed to shoot) is, so when you use cammo undies with a charge item, it will charge based on your current tear rate + the tears up of camo undies, but as the tears decreasse, the charge bar becomes bigger, but you still get the benefits of camo undies, leading to the visual of the bar decharging.

9:05 my thinking is that the charge bar is the percentage till you can fire. When you have higher tear rate, let’s say it takes 1s to fire, at 0.25s you’re 25% of the way there and so the bar is filled 25%, but when you’re tear rate goes back down it take 4 seconds to fire and so 0.25 is now 6.25% and so the bar moves back accordingly. It’s not exactly those numbers but it’s just an example of what I think is happening. 🤓

I feel like the quick fix for Greed/Greedier mode issue is to just not make the initial 500 grind by removing or at least really scaling back the stacking jam chance in regular Greed mode so it doesn’t force you to do it over and over again on a bunch of characters to get that initial 500 in a reasonable amount of runs

That is part of it, the other part being that good original movies simply stand out more compared to most others from the past 10 years or so. Now you get almost nothing but soulless fast paced bombastic eye candy reference filled cash grabs, and "sequels" that are essentially just remakes to profit off of a well known name. Oh hey Mattman I found a cool thing with camp pants where the ‘explosion’ of coming out of the invis actually destroys the keepers if you’re close enough, which is really cool and obscure and can’t believe it actually does that. The monstro’s lung charge going backwards is actually really easy to explain. (I think) When you have a charge item (brim, monstro’s lung, cursed eye, etc.) you have a set time coded for the attack to be made a.k.a charge bar filling, but this time changes on real time with your tear rate, and camo pants actually helps with the omega tear rate it gives as a boost, like a pseudo kidney stone, you can try it with a combo like soy milk + monstro’s lung + camo. The problem with your case is that the .50 tears up decreases the time by A LARGE MARGIN larger that the time the timer would be before the camo tears up ends, probably about 1 to 3 seconds, im not sure exactly how much but, because of how camo undies are coded, that tears up disappears faster that the charge bar can charge, so, the bar charges negatively

In short: the timer extends, and reduces the charge visible because the decrease tear rate camo undies give is greater The reason this is rare is that you don’t see the charge whenever getting a tears up item, if I remember correctly it cancels the charge when the “picking up an item” animation happens

And yes, the charge could matter also since items like cursed eye or chocolate milk don’t need the full charge to shoot the tears or tear modifiers, then again it could just be a case of “when the timer is at x seconds or at x percent you can shoot a designated amount of tears” or something involving the timer, I feel like that’s how it works, but im not that knowledgeable of coding

I feel like Across the Spiderverse had a lot of potential to be a nice call forward from Into the Soiderverse’s message of what it means to be not just Spider-Man, but to be YOUR Spider-Man. But we just didn’t get the pay off. The movie does a fairly good job at establishing and wrapping up a lot of stuff to be it’s own thing in a two-parter special, but it is still an unfinished storyline and we won’t have that answer for a good while. Meanwhile Into the Spiderverse can always stand as it’s own emotionally full movie.

the charge bar is just a visualization of what % you’re at before you can shoot. when your tears go down that steeply, it goes from 25% ready to 10% ready, because the total charge time goes from about 4 seconds to about 9-11 seconds

So interesting thing about getting negative tear rates, at a certain point they are exponential increases and decreases when your tear rate is low enough. This is why Matt got a .02 tears up from Mr. Belly. If Matt were to in theory keep picking up Mr. Belly’s (or any other tear up) the his net tear rate increase would increase exponentially up until he got to normal tears.
