Been using a P2M ngECO for more than 20.000km on gravel, commuting, racing, any type of riding, really. The battery lasts so long I forget which type to buy between every battery change. Really bombproof piece of kit, I love mine. Considering they're made in Germany I think they're also really good value!

I have two Type S units on Rotor 3d+ cranks. Both have been fit and forget. Never dropped signal and have never noticed and significant differences between readings so happy to use same numbers across both bikes. Enjoy.

Excellent choice - I have power2max pms on both my gravel and MTB bike and the accuracy is really good (I compared fit files with Favero Assioma and TacX Neo2T) and the readings were very close. Especially on the gravel and MTB a crank/spider based pm is a better design than pedal based power meter as it's less prone to bashing against rocks etc.

Informative video! I had a rotor aldhu 24mm crankset pair with the NGeco and 8100 ultegra chainrings. I noticed that the aldhu crankset sits 2mm further from the BB when compared to the stock 8100 crankset. I only put an O-ring on the drive side with no spacers. Did you noticed if your crankset sits further? I was wondering if this 2mm increased chainline would cause shifting problems. Thanks!

Thanks. Didn’t have any problems with shifting.

My first experience with the product was with my 2016 team issued Monster Media MASI EVOLUSIONE dura ace Di2 equipped with the ROTOR crank and power meter. During fit setup we linked it to the computer and found my optimal power range according to the movable chainring option. I was so impressed because it actually translated to less avg watts at same avg speed on a 40 mile segment I normally train on. Rotor is so ahead with this computer/athlete combination and I assume this 2022 model is 👏 amazing! I run the P2MAX on my sworks epic but curious as to why you didn't go with the entire ROTOR power meter system 🤔
@ronykuba2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t go with Rotor because it’s an inconsistent power meter. What you are describing has absolutely nothing to do with what you think is causing the “improvement”.

@@ronykuba p2max works great on my MTB..just thought I would mention my old rotor setup. Currently enjoying my sworks power crank on a 2019 Venge.
@alextasch81142 жыл бұрын
@@ronykuba I was referring to the actual rotor chainring showing less avg watts to keep an avg speed compared to more watts with a traditional round sprocket. The rotor chainring was very nice and the connection to the computer to show optimal position was even cooler!!! 👌
@ronykuba2 жыл бұрын
@@alextasch8114 as I said, that’s nonsense. The things that have an effect on your speed are power, aero drag, rolling resistance and drivetrain losses. Changing the shape of your chainrings doesn’t affect any of those.

Hello Ronald, are these power2max spiders compatible with the Rotor Aldhu carbon cranks? To put it differently, is it possible to seperately buy the Aldu carbon crank arms and use it with the NG power2max spider?

@@ronykuba ... I just noticed that in your latest video. That is very neat because it places the power2max very competitively in terms of weight. I might choose this for my new bike build. The Rotor Aldhu carbon cranks are only available in 30mm not in 24mm (Shimano) correct? Thanks a lot!

Hi Ronald ! I am thinking about going 2by for triathlon racing with something like 54/42 on a rotor aldhu 30mm + power2max ngeco (the frameset would be a shiv tri with the preinstalled ceramic bb). I am a bit puzzled about which configuration is the best for large chainrings: 110-4 or 130-5 ? Also we must use durace front derailleur for anything above 53 right ? Thanks :)

Hey Ron, so I’m pretty sure I’m not going to say anything you don’t already know or at least thought about here. One, it’s a lot of work to install those for most people. Two, you have roughly a $15k or more bike and you are using aluminum cranks not carbon fiber ones. Three, you have been 100% all about marginal gains since day one ie. attention to detail and my subjective thoughts are that most people who watch your channel watch it for this very reason and of course, because of how much information you bless us with and bike knowledge in general plus, since you race, marginal gains truly matter for you. Four, it’s so much easier to put on a pair of dual sided power pedals instead. Five, can you honestly say you would put those on your TT bike??? If you put those aluminum ones on your $20k plus TT bike i think all your fans would be shocked including me. Finally, please know I have nothing but major respect for you and everything you do so please don’t take or think what I’m saying as being disrespectful. I would say your using these because they are one of your new sponsors so why not at least try them. I completely understand, but I hope your not or would not ever use an inferior product that goes completely against your entire channel just to get sponsors. Anyway, all the best and I look forward to your next video brother. ✌️

1.) Bike shops do exist. Noone said that everyone has to do it at home. On the other hand, for an experienced home mechanic, it is a 10minute job. It is the price to pay for superior measurement 2.) And? Just because something is "carbon", it doesn´t automatically mean it is better, does it? Plenty of "15k+" bikes have Shimano Dura Ace cranks, which are also made of aluminium (not very well either) and no one seems to mind that. 3.) How is changing to a higher quality PM against marginal gains? 4.) For a racer, pedals need to be pedals, for obvious reasons. Apart from that, PM pedals have bulky pods, more stack and a wider Q factor - all pretty counterproductive too. 5.) Sorry, this is a really, really dumb argument. The material is one thing, the level of finished component is another. There are frames that cost 500€ and are made out of carbon fiber. It doesn´t mean that they are the same as a high end frame. It works the other way too. The Aldhu 30 is an intricately machined, light and stiff high end aluminium crank. End of story. 6.) I have stated this numerous times already, but let´s go for this again: sponsorships are NOT OBLIGATORY. If they are about a product that I don´t like, I simply don´t ACCEPT them.
