Clearly we can spot one of the values of m to be 2, and taking m-2 as the factor of equation we will divide to get the quadratic equation and then we will solve to get other two factors . Either they will be resl or imaginary

Bruh this is just grade 9 and 10 maths at most. How can this be college level? Just use factor theorem and quadratic formula. That's it.

complex numbers are not part of the regular math fare at that grade everywhere. The first (real) solution should be obvious though.

Looks like a high school problem..? I've literally solved those in 11th grade. Don't quite get why does everyone is so flabbergasted about this P.s. does math education really suck that much in the US?

@@АнонимныйПользователь-ж5о так m=2 не единственный корень уравнения (если говорить про вещественные). Нужно разделить уравнение на (m-2), а затем решить оставшееся квадратичное уравнение. Все это есть в школьной программе для 11 физмат классов
