I got to play Minecraft Legends EARLY Grian was invited by mojang to attend a small play session of Minecraft Legends and see what this game is all about.

I was initially confused what this game was when I went to play it, but after a couple of hours I was pleasantly surprised. I recommend an open mind when approaching Minecraft Legends, strategy games are not for everyone but if you do enjoy them, I think you will enjoy Minecraft Legends.

The combat in this game (at least with the little golem fellows) reminds me of Mount & Blade: Bannerlords, where you control an army and you yourself can attack the enemy, this game kinda represents the mechanic whilst having that Minecrafty- feel to it! The fact that this is co-developed with Blackbird, who have quite a few Homeworld veterans and is the studio currently working on Homeworld 3, gives me a lot more faith in this game's RTS component. I'm really curious how this game will hold up once there are a lot of people playing it.

@@Awesomeflame16 Dungeons seemed like a solid concept on paper. That might have been the problem - the studio they got to do most of the development, Double Eleven, wasn't terribly experienced in making games from scratch. They mostly did a lot of ports. There is a lot you can learn from making ports, but there are also gaps. So that's probably what happened. Neither Mojang nor Double Eleven knew how to make a good dungeon crawler, and when you have a team that knows how to make a good game, but not the specific type of game they're making, the results are often lackluster. You do get lucky sometimes, but it's a gamble under the best of circumstances. This is precisely why I have a bit more faith in Legends. Blackbird knows how to make an RTS. And while the concept is somewhat ambitious overall, it really sounds like if the RTS PVP is fun to play, the game will be at least alright. So it sounds like they have the right sort of people working on it, the IP meshes well with the concept, and the preview looked pretty good. Fingers crossed.

Hiya Grian! For most of us in the Minecraft Community the Hermits are our League of Legends, there many friends on Empires, those in Limited Life!!! But hearing about your Charity Fund for a school in (Ghana or Guyana?) gave me an idea for a very cool way to help the support to become everyday visual to share in communities around the world. Have stickers made to go on vehicles with character skin images with a school building maybe? But definitely a vehicle sticker with our Minecraft Legends to put on our cars, so people can see we as a community support charities and each other. @@defense200x wouldn't say it was a cash grab. cash grabs tend to be things like shovelwear, and shovelwear is often a really low budget game that is outsourced, these games tend to be mobile games now, and they tend to have NOTHING unique about them. for example, it could be a breakout clone with minecraft blocks. RPGs do not tend to be shovelwear simply because you need a good budget to produce them. you need writers, character designers, level designers, UI UX designers ..... the list goes on

The tutorial world has similiar colour schemes and features to that of the ocean monument. I wonder what other lore this game has to offer.

Yeah, I noticed that too. But if you looked closely some of the blocks in the background were actually prismarine bricks, and the whole design of all of the structures is almost identical. I really hope that in the future they start linking these interdimensional entities with the base game.

Well they have stated that this is a separate universe from the original Minecraft. Any lore this game has in it isn't necessarily going to match up with the lore in the base game. I honestly feel like they are taking liberties and crafting their own story. It will be good for this game, but like Dungeons, the lore seems to be contradictive at times
