It's good. It's fun. But I prefer what FTTWTE proposed. Leaning into the Alternative Metal and orchestral with songs like Animals, Discourse is Dead, Dead Butterflies, Libertine, Goliath, Demi God. I ask of them to be ambitious, mature, heavy when it's really needed so that it's more impactfull. What's the point of Seeing Red and his lyrics now when you release songs like Curse and Whiplash and say in interview you are at your best when you're angry ?

Finally someone mentioning Demi God, what an underrated song. I do really enjoy this new song for what they are going for, but these songs so far, while being bangers, have not connected to me in the way the songs on FTTWTE and the previous records have. I do still think some of the lyrics in these songs are quite well written, but the overall mood has shifted towards a sound and lyrical style that more often than not kicks in the front door instead of being more "open" and grandiose. I think the next record is shaping up to be a good to really good modern metalcore album, but is not going to challenge the listener all that much.
@kw-wf9uf
@kw-wf9uf 11 сағат бұрын
@MeZame-l2u In a perfect world, the more gentle and open elements of FTTWTE would exist on the same record as a song like Whiplash. That really would be the sky, the earth and all between. Personally I think they found a perfect modern sound for them with Exist, but I'm always open to new approaches

I absolutely respect that you share your honest opinions man, but also gotta say that I am pretty happy that my music taste isn't as complex (?). I just think this is a banger I can bop my head to and that's about it. If a band only puts out deeply psychological, lyrically masterful songs, I will probably not listen to them. For example I love Spiritbox, but I have absolutely no clue what most of songs mean lyrically. I ain't smart enough for that.

@@SaintDoradothe correct word is depth. And for music, for me, that is a bottom line when it comes to metal a good 80% of the time. I don’t have a problem with metal with not much depth, but similarly to Bogdan, the depth and introspection of Architects is what made them interesting for me in 2014 - 2021, now that’s it’s gone, my interest in Architects has faded sorta thing

Maybe it's only me, but I don't get why people like Bad Omens, Spiritbox, etc. that much at the same time when Architects produces similar kind of music people say it's too generic and doesn't stand out. Hearing Sam's voice is always fun and unique, especially when he's pissed. Folks, get over it, you won't get old Architects with Gone with the Wind, they are gone now. These Architects are fun to listen and watch, while very different from old Architects, comparing both does not make sense, it's like comparing 2000s metalcore and 2020 metalcore which sounds completely different, but each is amazing on it's own

While it’s not the same as when Tom was in the band-and understandably so, given the new guitarists have different writing styles-I can still appreciate their evolution. The last two albums didn’t quite hit the mark for me and did affect how I viewed the band overall, though there were a few standout tracks. With their latest music, while it’s clear they’re not reverting to their old sound entirely, they seem to be making an effort to balance heaviness with a style that appeals to longtime fans. It’s obvious they’re still experimenting, and I respect that; every band grows and changes, and staying stagnant isn’t the goal. I think "Whiplash" is a decent track. It’s definitely miles ahead of "Gas Mask"-that song was just dreadful, to be honest! This new track at least has echoes of their older material while still pushing forward. It’s not perfect, but it’s a step in a direction that feels more familiar without sacrificing their progression.

Probably my favourite of the new singles but yeah it's very generic and typical metalcore with the big stadium chorus as they've done for the past few records. The 2nd breakdown bumped it up a bit and I'm excited for the full album but definitely haven't been vibing with them as much after Holy Hell although they're still one of my favourite bands. The new Thornhill song on the other hand is a banger so looking forward to the reaction for that

I feel the same...I never got into Architects but their older stuff had more recognition value.. Nonetheless you should react to Dexcores new song Paramnesia its a freakin banger🔥 It may be not your alley but its a fun ride and thats what reacting is about right🙏

It's cooler than most of the last architects stuff. But still... yeah... if architects then ATGHAU or earlier stuff.

They cant write songs like the old stuff because Tom wrote most of it before he passed. They had to relearn and reinvent themselves and unfortunately not everyone connects with it

If I wouldnt know its Architects, I wouldnt guess it's Architects. Nothing that really sounds like "their" sound.

Dunno if you'll read this, but check out Starve's debut album Life's Promise Dies. It's disturbing, head pounding metalcore with a THICK and chonky production. It's also very short as well, and a great experience.

Personally, I hated Architects’ last two albums, not a fan at all. But these singles they’ve been putting out starting with Seeing Red have been much more in the vein of the Architects that I liked (not loved, just liked) of the 2010’s. I’m happy to see them going at least somewhat back in that direction, and I’m enjoying hearing Sam do lows again too. On another topic, Bogdan we need you on Bluesky!

Now don't flame me for this. Just like it's said in the video, we all have opinions. Now I find it interesting how people can judge a song. Personally I don't care about the lyrics too much or if it's original and interesting or whether it's generic etc. If I like what I hear I like it and if I don't like it I don't like it. I don't care about anything else. But I guess everyone is different. Personally I love this song.

It's definitely better than what their last album offered. That's not saying much but it's an improvement.

Once I accepted that they will never go back to the LT/LF - AOGHAU sound, I must say Whiplash is AMAZING. Last 3 singles are the awesome, so much energy. They are less techy and progressive but got more fun, and energetic !

Bogdan, I really appreciate how honest you are here. Metalcore I think, for a lot of us, has gotten INCREDIBLY predictable and boring. There’s not many bands than can surprise me in this space anymore. I’m tired of every samey track from the same 7 bands that every reaction youtuber hypes up.

It sounded exactly like what I thought it would sound like tbh and maybe I just need to get over the fact that they aren't making the kind of music they used to but it's kinda depressing how predictable they've become

This is not heavy, this is just arena rock with no prominent unique riff and breakdown. For a fan since Hollow Crown, the only reason I will listen to them now is the big chorus, which is super catchy. And I agree that you’re saying that era of Architects is gone for good😢

It is a very predictable song (apart from the breakdown at the end), and isn't much different to what Architects have put out recently, but I still love it! This era of architects is definitely my favourite, but each to their own

Mhhm, solid song again. But apart from the second breakdown, no big surprises. Catchy chorus, aggressive verses and a bit more social criticism in the lyrics again. But I somehow miss the depth. Damn, I love these guys and I've always found something good on their last albums, but the last time they really flashed me was with Animals.

The bouncy Riff in the Verses is so bad I'm sorry. The song as a whole is decent but that riff is just such an eye roll for me. This sounds like a combination of everything you'd hear on Octane.
