Why did they decide u need one like where there multiple reasons like u weren’t eating much malnutrition and stuff like that? And how is life with it now that u are living with one? Also why do u pull them out and put new ones back in?

I’ve thrown up countless NJ tubes that’s really rough and hard as you’re constantly getting them placed. I have still vomited up my peg-j tube several times and might now end up with separate G & J tubes (J for feeds, fluids, meds & G for drainage & venting) hang in there Amity! You got this xx

My question for your Q&A video: Is the tube to provide the nutrition you need over the course of (how many hours?) as a steady stream in small amounts that your digestive system can handle, since eating all of the food you need in a regular meal is too much for your digestive system to handle all at once?

I just had my pegj placed 4 days ago it’s quite painful at the moment and a little scary, but day by day the pain is getting a little better, it’s already so much easier for me to cope with than the issues coming along consistently with and nj or nasal tube stay strong Amity your amazing all that you manage to do whilst being sick it’s inspiring just remember you are stronger than you know and all us gp warriors stand together 💜

Your amazing for putting these videos together. I’m a film student and I know putting content together is super stressful and time consuming. Your a trooper for accomplishing that while having a pretty bad chronic Illness . Much respect Amity!! 😎

Aww thank you so much 😊 I was almost going to go to film school after I finished year 12 however I took a gap year instead to save up some money and then I got sick so it's pretty cool that now I can make videos on KZbin using my gifts even if it wasn't the way I thought I would 😊

Just curious, what exactly is a Gastroparesis flare like? It's just that I'm in constant discomfort with mine & could never work out if it's a flare.

@@julietannOsfan1972 Severe cramping and acid reflux or vomiting can be key parts of a flare. Mostly a sudden spike in severity of existing symptoms. The prokinetic Mestinon ended up curing my gastroparesis, so I no longer have flares or symptoms.

My feeding tube question for your q&a video is; what are the ingredients in a feed? Like is it a whole listen of science words or actual food ingredients? Sorry to hear your having a rough go of it again. I know it isn’t the same kind of comparison but my doctor always complains to me about my stomach being “too sensitive” because I always get side effects from everything they try. It’s very frustrating because no one can do anything about it, neither you or your doctor. Like we have all these “advances” in medicine but for people like us with gastroparesis, no one wants to do any further research on other options or someone does but it’s only one study so it’s not “significant” enough.

It's so rough for us 😢 my hope is that one day there is be a cure found. I did meet someone once who is studying a cure. She is really nice and I so hope she can find it. She is a scientist with the Western Sydney University GI Motility disorders lab. Much love to you 💕

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN had a major breakthrough in repurposing Mestinon in treating gastroparesis. It cured mine. It might not work for everyone, but the medication hardly costs anything since it was developed many decades ago to treat other health issues. The pharmaceutical companies work hard to discourage research like this, since they'd rather have doctors prescribe their expensive newer medications to us. The research is out there - it's up to your doctor to find it, read it, and decide to prescribe these new options to their patients.

@@dcooper1535 Well congrats on your cure. And thanks for sharing this. I’m going to see if I can find this. Do you remember where you found it?

@@marzettik Pharmacies get Mestinon, and you'll need a doctor's prescription for it. A neurologist would be the most familiar with it, but gastroenterologists who keep up to date on medical research in their field would prescribe it since it has less risk and fewer side effects than the other gastroparesis medications they prescribe. Another option is an over-the-counter health supplement that a doctor developed to mimic Mestinon, called Parasym Plus. Health supplements are not regulated, so Mestinon would be the better choice. Parasym Plus doesn't need a doctor to prescribe it, so this option is more convenient. I've never tried Parasym Plus, so I can't vouch for it. Hopefully your doctor can see if Mestinon can work for you. It speeds up the digestive system, so doctors start people out on a low dose of 30mg twice daily at first. They slowly increase the dose for the next several weeks and eventually get to the normal dose of 60mg three times daily. This gradual increase helps to gradually get the digestive system up to normal speed, which is much more comfortable for patients.

I have a messed up body that fails me. I had a Foley catheter for many months my urologist was able to take it out yesterday and I am peeing on my own luckily. We were talking about a permanent catheter called a Suprapubic Catheter(SPC) I'm hoping and praying that my bladder continues to work and I won't need another Foley catheter and an SPC. I have many medical problems like seizures and IBS and Diverticulosis etc
