Some peeps mustve already optimized avatar movesets, personally i made a zoner / grappler hybrid, it had DJs and Dhalsims Fireball, along with Manons Command Grab + Dhalsims Forward Teleport, you could guess what the playstyle was, just play lame and tp away if youre cornered, command grab/s are there if youre forced to play the close-range game, only thing i didnt max was the avatars stats, gear and limbs, but im planning to fix that 1ce i get my new PC.

So basically if anybody has some money and wants to host another tournament he will do it (I’m assuming you would need to have some kind of prizing, or at least casters and a stream). However, I agree that he probably won’t play avatar battle again otherwise, which is honestly expected. He is clearly someone who really enjoys competition, so I don’t see him playing something that has no ranked ladder or tournaments lol. His willingness to play if there is a tournament is pretty exciting if you like avatar battle.

I was prepared to be cheering for Chakotay as the only real contender when I saw he had put the hours into leveling his avatar, but honestly Neph came in with the forbidden get strong fast tech researched and made me root for him making it work no matter the level gap. Made it all that way underpowered, so no shot Neph doesn't win at level 100. Also at 32:50 the timing on the alienware logo popping up after Neph gets the KO. 😭 lol

20:55 from a Marisa Player, why on earth would you take her level 1. Yes it beats meaty projectiles, yes it isn’t AS bad that it isn’t throw invincible if you have an ex-dp, but my guy, luke lvl 1 is a thing in this game. It’s much faster, beats throws, beats jumps, punishes stuff from half screen on reaction, is an unreactable chip out from half screen, is a projectile itself, deletes non-super projectiles, and opens up high damaging combo routes regardless of your moveset choice or screen position (you need superman punch to combo into charged level 1 in the corner and uncharged level 1 is also a bit specific to combo into). Also, you start world tour with it equipped as soon as you unlock super, so he literally unequipped it for Marisa’s.

Getting to level 100 is anti fun, but the avatar battle at max level makes it worth it. Fastest way to level is to just run up and down the 8 floor science tower with exp boosters on. Takes forever, but having a full max charachter with all master level 20 is very fun

You can change to classic controls after (I think) chapter 1 - once unlocked from Luke, in options there are P1, P2 or avatar for controls - change the avatar settings for classic in world tour

The real answer is, if you have a character that has a certain amount of kudos (somewhere around 2,000 or maybe 20,000) then you unlock that character’s style and the specials that you get when they become your master
