My father was the first of our extended family who joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 1940s because of a vision, too. He'd give testimony that he'd been visited by a man who had introduced himself as Moroni in Spanish! He had a book with him and opened the book while saying, "You will teach many from this book...." After that vision, dad was in a hospital and a nurse who was a member gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon. She sent the missionaries from Los Angeles, CA to Anaheim, CA, and a year later, our family was baptized, except for me. I was only 6 years old. Blessings 🙌

I had a very good friend when I lived in Oregon. He told me something that he does not share with other people. He told me that when he was taking the missionary discussions that he could not get past the fact that an angel delivered the plates to Joseph Smith for him to translate. He said it just seemed unbelievable. But he said that he did kneel down and pray about it. He told that he was concerned of being told a lie and he did not want to get duped. He said he felt that if he could get through this hurdle... he could accept everything he had been taught. He said he had just gotten done praying about it when the Angel Moroni appeared to him with the plates in his hand. And He asked my friend if he would like to read the Book of Mormon directly from the plates. He said he was so amazed as what he was witnessing that he almost felt kinda dumb for doubting. And that is when he told Mormon... no.. he did not need to read directly from the plates. From that time forward, there was nothing that he was taught that he could not believe. He said he was still testified to the truthfulness of what he was being taught... but did not need a manifestation from an angel.

I found David on iG and KZbin before I found Zion Media. I LOVE the power of you testimony David! I have been blown away with your own posts too. I want more of your conversion story. You have a special soul. When you allow yourself to be emotional in tender moments it really brings people in with you and touches our hearts. The spirit was strong during your testimony.

I Love 💕 hearing conversion stories! Thank you 🙏, David. That was really beautiful. I’m a convert, too. I joined the Church way back in 1962 when I was 11 years old. I had a major spiritual experience as well. God is no respecter of people, especially the youth. He answers our sincere prayers no matter how old or young we are. My spiritual experiences have kept me grounded as well. We join the Church because it’s true and we stay rooted in our faith in Jesus Christ through all the tender mercies He gives us. Thank you all for this podcast. I really enjoy and appreciate it.😊

Thank you, David, for sharing your testimony journey and other parts of your life. You are a very Celestial brother. I know your sharing of your testimony with others will be a great blessing to many, and I know our Father will bless you in many ways for bearing your testimony every Fast and Testimony Meeting. I was converted at 7 1/2 when a missionary started telling me and my widowed father about the Gospel. It felt like I’d been hit by a Celestial Semi, because I joyfully RECOGNIZED it almost immediately because I’d heard it all before, but when? I kept trying to remember when I’d met this dear friend before in my short years of life, but couldn’t. About two years before we met this LDS missionary, my dad had started taking me to various denominations to find the one that felt “right.” We’d attend a denomination for awhile, then a different one for a few months and made friends in each. But in each new church as we were sitting in the congregation, I would hear a voice in the back of my mind say: “These are GOOD people, and they have some truth, but it is not COMPLETE.” But when we talked with the missionary and attended the LDS meetings, I never heard that message again. We both knew we had come “HOME”.

6:30 its that blacks also want to know how dark or light their babies are gonna be, so they look at the ears for tone range. Its said that, as light or as dark are the babies ears, is how one will determine the skin tone shade will be of that baby. That was the joke David is talking about, that Chris Rock said.

Constructive criticism - it’s crucial to maintain the vibe of the interview. No disrespect, but every time Shane or Trevor chimed in to make a joke or comment, it almost enduringly killed the mood. I was getting really frustrated watching. Here is someone that is being really vulnerable in a public way, and then the co hosts derail things with their interjections. Stay on track please. I only give this feedback because I want this channel to succeed and grow.
