A missionary prayer: “Give me a mountain to climb, give me a river to cross, grant me the fire to refine all the impure in the dross, give me some ground I can till and give me the seed and the rain, I’ll plant by the light if Thy will and consecrate all of the gain, fruit of my labors I yield to the God of the Harvest so kind, faith through my work is revealed with all of my heart and my mind, Father in Heaven make me all Thy will can allow, then for eternity at Thy holy throne will I bow” 34:59

I love a lot of these thoughts. When it comes to being willing to submit to what our Father will inflict, I understand that the meaning of the word is to strike, but I don't think that's what is meant, because that sounds abusive. I think it's more like, when a parent asks a child to do things that are really hard or uncomfortable, or allows the child to go through hard things, because the parent knows that the needs to experience these things in order to learn and grow, even though it's hard for the parent to see the child having a hard time. The parent hopes that the child will trust that the parent has their best interest at heart. That's how I see it.

Do you want your spouse to minister to you out of habit or with real intent and full purpose of heart? Does God want us to pray out of habit or because we are seeking Him with all the energy of our heart? Brother Staheli described his submitting himself to the will of the Lord, but he didn't do it out of habit but from real intent.

@safrew1 I firmly believe that can happen and has happened just like the people in the city of Enoch. Mary was chosen to carry the son of God, I firmly believe she and Joseph were as well.
