We missed you Lebo. My mom had amnesia of the short term memory, it was so traumatic to my family and I but true to amnesia, it left her no trauma as she cannot remember. She had an operation that the Dr said would take 45 mins to an hour to remove her left ovary that had a benign tumor. Unfortunately the anesthetist messed up somewhere and my mom suffered oxygen deprivation to the brain for close to 5 mins, she was probably a min or less away from death when they got it right. Upon waking she was apparently screaming so much that she had to be sedated. Then eventually she woke up and seemed fine, remembered her name and us when we visited but didn't know why she was in hospital. When we went to see her she knew us but every 2 mins or so would ask " How long have you been here?" and the one you've seen on TV " Where am I? What am I doing here." it was in 2015 but my eyes get teary sharing this now. What hurt the most was watching her not be my mom. My mom was strong, a community builder and person that everyone looked to for answers to questions and solutions to problems but now she just sat there taking commands from Drs and myself. When we took her home I was worried that people in the village would say she had gone crazy and feared that she wouldn't recover. But about a week after the incident she started to retain short term memories and kept continuing. It took about 3 months for her to reach what I believe to be about 99% recovery.

I am a late comer to this channel but i must say I tried to catch up as much as I could. I just love how Relebogile talks less and let the guests speak more. I didn't understand clearly the events leading to the accident of the other lady on video call,l think she could have expressed herself better in the local language and subtitles would have assisted us watching from other countries.l am not dissing her but l failed to visualize the concept when she was explaining how the other lady took the car...and she took the car back...then she took the car🙆

Ì also had amnesia after a car accident in 2001 even today I don't know or remember what happened. Part of my brain was swollen and everything looked the same and I could not feel any pain,

She started realising that there is a problem when my then boyfriend who is my husband now would visit me and immediately when he left I would take my phone and call him and tell him to come and visit me

I totally relate to Bongi's experience especially when she mentions the memory coming back. I had a seizure back in 2010 and had to undergo brain surgery. When I came out I was totally different especially where memory is concerned.

Eish, what I'm going to say is probably going to be offensive kodwa I feel like lo mama has some narcissistic traits, like somehow the world revolves around her and the people around her should worship her. If you don't bow down and make sure the queen is okay, then you're out. It's probably one of the reasons they don't get along with her daughter. She's trying to get your attention as her mother, even tells you straight up that you don't give her attention and you choose to leave, you choose to involve the police, now that they are involved, they were putting on a show because of you? Like WTF? Hopefully her daughter is also in therapy because wow😳 I'm sorry about her accident though.

Aus skolopad's accident seems like it had to happen in order for her change her lifestyle She needs to accept the things she did to her daughter. Shes acting out based her moms actions. Am Not being judgmental however a few years ago she was a semi-nudists living a care free life and just being out there seeking unnecessary attention that diminishes one's dignity and that alone does affect a child. They both need psychologist intervention, responsibility, forgiveness, and healing Cutting her out only makes things worse.
