OK, so I had a direct sales ink pad whose reinker was no longer available, and I bought a CP reinker and used it! It didn't like foam, catch on fire, grow mushrooms, or get weird. It is hard to replace entire ink pads when they seem good enough. I get it.

How awesome that you get to try these inks. I started the collection as soon as she came out with them. They are my absolute favorite! Just a couple words of advice. First, reinkers!!! You will want to start getting them slowly. The ink pads work so well direct to paper but that uses a lot of ink. Still cheaper than buying colored card stock, though. Second, be very careful with midnight. It stains your stamps. I know that’s not a bad thing but if you press too hard and get ink deep in the stamp then you can’t see the details any longer. As you noticed in the video, no pounding! Just a couple light taps is enough. Once you get used to them, though, you will love them. Have Funn!!!

I also have a load of Stampin Up! ink pads from when I started my craft obsession... some are surely 20 years old. I never bought re-inkers, not even for the oxides i more recently have bought to play with. I've only had a few SU pads dry up, and only one colour i miss. So my question is, do the inks stain your stamps? I am one of those people that doesn't like stained stamps. A little discolor is ok. But a once clear stamp that turns a deep shade of pink makes me crazy to clean it. I've also been looking for new ink, but I want ink that won't stain.

I do not have enough experience or expertise to answer that, however, there are some comments saying they can. I'm the craftette who rather likes having inky fingers. There is, no doubt, answers to this on the internet, and can be searched. Hope that you find that answer and some happy inks.

I used to be the same way about inks staining my stamps. I ended up doing a bit of research and here are a few things I learned in the process. If you are using good quality photopolymer stamps, pretty much all inks will stain them, regardless of the company. This is especially true with more deeply pigmented colors like reds, purples, etc. High quality photopolymer stamps are designed to hold on to ink to give you good stamping results, but that also means some staining may occur. Catherine's inks (which I LOVE) can stain, but no worse that any other dye inks on the market. The one exception is her Midnight ink which is an archival black ink. It will definitely stain stamps, but it's such an amazing deep rich black ink, I've learned to let go of my disdain for staining. 😂
